Jonathon Woodgate??

Tue Dec 28, 2010 5:00 pm

Can it get any worse?? The feller was a class act, but is injury prone and an
accident waiting to happen. Who is Jones hoping to pair him up with...Chris
Riggott, another ex class act, injury prone and an accident waiting to happen!!!
Perhaps we could put them alongside Lee Naylor, another once decent player
who surely couldnt have any more accidents? Then leave the once class act
Jason Koumas to run the show in midfield. Perfect.

Like Dave says... You aint going to get anywhere relying on youngsters, not
with what we're trying to achieve here.

Calling Steve Howard. Calling Steve Howard!!!!

I would sign Jonathon Ross from the BBC, the way our defence has performed all season.
Anything better than the rubbish we have in place at the moment.
Somethings not right at the club. :? :?

So you beleive we shouldn't sign Woodgate on a loan till the end of the season?

Would you say that Hudson, Gypes and Riggott are better players, because i definately wouldn't.. This guy would be a class act at this level even if it was only for a few months, he would tighten the back up and give us the experience we need. Even if he is injury prone he needs game time and i for one would be more than happy if it was Cardiff that gave him that.

What if he signs, fills a slot up that we cannot change... then gets injured Liam!
What If he gets injured on the Monday and Riggott gets injured on the Tuesday.
Given the amount of football he's played this last year its a massive gamble.

Why gamble? Surely Jones must know of safer bets than Woodgate, and you can
bet if he comes here the Football league will be making damn sure we're paying
the bulk of his wages

It's all what ifs though, i know weve had players like fowler beforehand who come and get injured and stay on the wage bill but if this was to happen then he would just get recalled for treatment and we would stop paying. I dont see a downside to it to be honest, Harry said he's one of the best centre halfs in england.. well if he gets injured hes hardly gunna want us treating him, he'll get recalled in an instant. If he doesn't get injured again i dont think anyone could deny he will be a great short term solution to what is a massive defensive problem. As far as wages go I dont see harry wanting us to pay a huge amount, at the end of the day we would be doing a massive favour by taking him on instead of him slugging it out in the prem. I know they would be doing us an even bigger favour but hes been on the wage bill so long injured i dont see what a few months difference would make now

If we sign him on loan, and he gets injured. We wont be able to replace him
The window will be shut. Same goes for Riggott. We will be stuck with Hudson
Gypes and Darcy. We CANNOT go up with those three

Woodgate is carrying a groin injury and his club are looking to loan him out until he gets fit. At a pivotal time in our season, I don't think we can take the gamble of waiting for yet another player carrying an injury to come good for us.We need players desperately who are on form and can hit the ground running.I can't agree with a previous post of leaving Koumas run the midfield as he could not run a Kebab shop on present form.

No such thing as being injury prone, its just extremely bad luck and bad management of a weak area of someones body. Tottenham will have done everything to ensure that Woodgate is as fit as he can possibly be, and is obviously fit to play because Harry wants him to play games regular before next season. In my opinion he is worth the risk. If he gets injured he goes back to Tottenham
