For the best online experience the xbox is ALOT better.


For regular single player gaming the PS3 is better.


If you have friends who play online get whatever they have so you can play with them.

without a doubt xbox and i've got both so i know what theyre both like

xbox good points:
online is amazing despite you have to pay for it it's worth it
wide variety of games
graphics good
controller easier to handle
kinect

ps3 good points:
better graphics
dont have to pay for online
wide variety of games

ps3 bad points
controller a bit too small for me
online about 1/10 of the quality of xbox online

xbox bad points:
pay for online
graphics not as good
discs scratch in xbox

i have to say the i think xbox is a much better online experience so xbox for me

its hasnt got better graphics it all depends on the game designers they have both got the same graphics card "so too speak" but the ps3 has something stupid like 8 processors (on the chunks) but the slimlines have about 4.
i personal prefer xbox 360 due to the controller being bigger and 360's are more "modable" easier to chip and so on.
if your not going online xbox 360. if you are going online ps3 for the fact of it being free and it know having bbc iplayer, itv player and 4on demand. and internet explorer.

It honestly depends what you want it for. If you're going to be playing online all the time, get an Xbox. You have to pay for online, but the community is much better.

If you're going to be playing mainly offline, get a PS3.

A PS3 is a better "console", because the hardware is better. Xbox has a lot of problems with hardware failure and it's disk drive scratching disks.

In my house there are 2 Xbox 360's and 2 PS3's. I've got my own and my daughter's got her own. The Xbox's never get used. I can't remember the last time either of us switched the xbox on.
Put simply the PS3 wins hands down on every front. Better graphics, better sound, better equipped such as the online services like iPlayer, ITV player etc. I watched the Inbetweeners on it last night when I finished gaming. Don't forget that the PS3 is also a fully functioning Bluray player.

How anyone can criticise the PS3 for online is beyond me, it is far better than the xbox. Of course it varies between games but that's down to the game makes not the console. PS3 is free to play on line as well remember. I think xbox users who say their online experience is better only say so to try and justify the money they have to shell out everytime they want to connect. I've tried both and PS3 is better, simple as.

The other thing about online is the Playstation Home thing. For those who don't know, Home is an interactive virtual world that your avatar travels round in a social network. It's got all the features of Facebook etc plus a hell lot more. My daughter lives on it, literally 20 hours a day.

Oh and it's worth mentioning that the PS3 ties in very nicely with my handheld PSP. I keep a few films, games and music on my PSP and the database of all my music etc on my PS3. When I want to change my music on my PSP I can dip in to my PS3 and change my PSP's content. I can do this from anywhere there's a Internet connection. So for instance when I'm on hols and I've not got that album I'd like to listen to I can just link my PSP to my PS3 back home and transfer the album over. Can a xbox do that? No!

The plus side for xbox? It does have few titles that are not available on Playstation such as the greatest game of all time - Halo. Apart from that though, the xbox is a cheaper console, simply because it's a cheaper console.
