He is slow !! also a liability. He will have one decent game (today) followed by several shockers. A decent bloke by all accounts, but sorry not worth 14k a week Chief

seconded. This is my main worry Our manager is a stubborn old so and so and if true to form he will stick to his guns and keep picking Hudson and Naylor (in my view our 2 weak links). No shame in admitting your wrong Dave, just address the issue in the transfer window.

a cracking solid display today from hudson and riggot :ayatollah: BUT hudson is slow and we need better to get to the prem and stay there, we need to be solid EVERY game !!! lets hope we go on a good run now :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I agree he was poor last season, that gives fans the right to give him stick this season why?

Ohh yeah! Cos he's been our best defender so far by a county mile

Don't even tell me McNaughton has, I know how good he is, he's f*cking class, but he's had nothing to do this season, he's done nothing special, Hudson has come on leaps and bounds, yet we still have braindead morons for fans on facebook saying lovely things like this "I hope the crock of shit dies a slow painful cancerous death"
f*cking disgraceful!

By the way - I understand that the chance is you have never said a thing like that about Alan Tate let alone anyone else, but you can see why I'm a little serious about this debate :ayatollah:

What he lacks in pace he makes up for in general defensive play,

Not worth 14k a week? Mate, Messi isn't, it should be british troops on those wages, and no one else!

I think what Nuclear is trying to say that in relative terms compared to other football players who would be on around the same salary he would not be the best value for money.

In all fairness, I can respect that opinion, and I'm not one to pull cotton wool over my eyes so I'll say it, He is not good enough for premiership football,

We're not playing premiership football, and he's doing a magnificent job as it is, we wait til we get to the prem then we can attract better players :ayatollah:

The main positive for me was the effort the team put in today. They played as a team for the first time for me since Leeds United away and I will be a happy bunny if that continues for the rest of the season and I suspect so will every other fan and eveyone connected with the club.

Your opinion to be fair, doesn't differ from mine much, with that in mind, you are a ledgend

Very Skilful, But as slow as A TORTOISE, Would Do well with My Mate Feeney in the Division Below.
Not Worth £14,000 a Week, Worth £2,000 a Week.

Skilful ?

He's a centre half. I think he's decent enough in the Championship, which is why, unlike feeney he's played all his career here, mainly in successful sides (us and Palace, - one bad year at Charlton, where he had EigHT different partners), rated and picked by many top managers at this level -including warnock who I know you rate. One thing I wouldnt say he was though is skilful

He wins most headers, makes plenty of tackles, blocks and does things simple.

Pace, yes he's slow, but so are most centre halfs. Gerrard and Gyepes are no quicker than him, most opposition centre halfs are too. If he had pace he's be up front. ;)

He's been our best defender in a side who have one of the best defensive records in the division.

One poster above said he'd be lost in the prem and he's probably right, however he's more than average at this level compared to what I see in opposition.

One thing -abut his wages. No-one knows this for sure -if they do then someone should be sacked for passing out confiential and private information. Even if true then it doesnt make him a worse player if he's paid well.

Skilful ? He's certainly not that

He's a centre half. I think he's decent enough in the Championship, lower maybe which is why, unlike feeney he's played all his career here, mainly in successful sides (us and Palace, - one bad year at Charlton, where he had EigHT different partners), rated and picked by many top managers at this level -including warnock who I know you rate. One thing I wouldnt say he was though is skilful

He wins most headers, makes plenty of tackles, blocks and does things simple. Very simple, can't jump, heads weak, poor attacking the ball, clumsy tackles often, turns slower than the QE2, passing and distribution is woeful, first touch weak many times

Pace, yes he's slow, but so are most centre halfs. Gerrard and Gyepes are no quicker than him, most opposition centre halfs are too. If he had pace he's be up front. ;) Gerrard and Gyepes are shit as well, he doesn't have the touch , turn or balance to be a striker let alone technical ability

He's been our best defender in a side who have one of the best defensive records in the division. nonsense, as for the record it's been a poor division and most goals conceded have come from defensive errors rather than good attacking play.

One poster above said he'd be lost in the prem and he's probably right, however he's more than average at this level compared to what I see in opposition.

One thing -abut his wages. No-one knows this for sure -if they do then someone should be sacked for passing out confiential and private information. His wages which are well known are down to the former Chairman, Even if true then it doesnt make him a worse player if he's paid well.
you can't get much worse than Hudson at this level of top Championship football team attempting for Premiership football.

In my opinion today it was one of his better ones.

If he's only capable of being a 'lower Championship' centre half then why has he been in the top 8 most of his career ??

He wins most headers, makes plenty of tackles, blocks and does things simple. Very simple, can't jump, heads weak, poor attacking the ball, clumsy tackles often, turns slower than the QE2, passing and distribution is woeful, first touch weak many times

Disagree, jumps well and wins most of his headers - you wont get much distance when you are heading against a similar size player under pressure. Try it ! Attacks the ball well, often getting in front of the striker to nick it off him -did it today, rarely clumsy tackles- how many pens does he give away - cant remember one in what 70-odd appearances for us. Ridiculous criticism ? If anything my criticism is he isnt cynical enough ! Passing and distribution for a centre half is pretty good -can only pas sto what is on -I guess you missed his ball for bellamy today, normally he plays it short - today again as an example he had the eays out for Mcphail - if he has nothing on he'll hit it long. 1st touch not brilliant, but as good as most at this level.
I thin people like you need to compare like with like -i.e against other Championship centre halfs, not thise you see on TV for Man U.

Yeah that was a bit of a joke, but then does Parkin or Adebola !

He's been our best defender in a side who have one of the best defensive records in the division. nonsense, as for the record it's been a poor division and most goals conceded have come from defensive errors rather than good attacking play.

Porr division.. thats a weak argument.. if you are deciding whether he's a Championship defender then you need to compare him with all the others. Are ther eonly half a dozen Championship standard centre halfs int he championship

90% of all goals can be traced back to 'defensive' errors. Give me a clue as to which goals this seaosn are actually Hudson's fault ?

As for 'nonsense' who has been our best defender then - notice you avoided that.

One poster above said he'd be lost in the prem and he's probably right, however he's more than average at this level compared to what I see in opposition.

Once again, your opinion, thing is, week in week out people are finding very little to criticise in his performances and putting it down to another fluke. Eventually the penny will drop.
