If the Welsh FA try and stop players from taking part in the Olympics then there could be a problem between players and the top brass.

the welsh F.A have at present taken the view that anybody that does play for G.B,can no longer play for wales.and a number of players are prepared to forefit the welsh team :ayatollah:

Bale was asked a question a long time ago and expressed a lukewarm positive response. 'They' have not spoken to any other Welsh player. As far as I'm aware there is no dissent in the Welsh ranks. It's yet another media driven story ably supported by Coe and his Westminster cronies, their noses are out of joint, it's all about supporting their Saes egos.
Wales as a nation are receiving a pittance of benefits as a result of the Olympics, we should have nothing to do with an Olympic team, it offers Wales absolutely zero benefits and can only damage our future standing in the world game. :ayatollah:

Apologies, I was talking only about football as it is clearly distinct, we have one of the oldest football associations in world football. We still have quite an elevated position within the world game thanks to our history, individuals within FIFA have regularly tried to smash the four associations and force them to merge. We're in a relatively priviliged position, we should not disrespect our global governing body by riding roughshod over the 'spirit' of the regulations. We must show diplomacy. In light of the recent World Cup decision emotions are elevated on all sides, we're best well out of it, for our own sake.

I concur. If someone is given that ultimatum anyway and they choose GB then surely we dont want them playing for our country?

Sounds really childish to me, what my understanding is that when England turned down the home nations tournament every other country involved (Rep + Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) signed something that said they couldnt nick our footballers for the GB team. Now theres talk of Bale and Ramsey playing for GB and Wales are saying they won't play again which is just daft and shooting ourselves in the foot. Like i said this is just my understanding I dont live in Wales anymore so dont see much of what goes on but hope someone could put me right if im wrong?
