Carl, is he a listed target again now too?
Was there any truth in the rumour or was it just fan speculation?

Nick Montgomery is not a target of Dave Jones at this time.

in the update you did say Hammill, or was Montgomery the player that caused the rift in the summer?
carlccfc wrote:For those who are concerned about the Boxing day game against Coventry City because of the snow and the apparent lack of effort at removing it from around the stadium are, I am assured, mistaken. City officials are "going all out" and are 99.9% that the game will be on.
The good news is that despite him not being fit for the Burnley game due to his hamstring pull, Jay Bothroyd is now fully recovered and will play against Coventry.
I have read many posts on here claiming DJ does not have the passion or desire to take this team up to the Premier League. Absolute nonsense.
I see people say he doesn't care enough and in that they believe that DJ is not bothered about if we lose to the Jacks and so on. On the matter of the jacks Dave Jones and his coaching staff have regular training methods but for the 3rd season running, in the week leading up to Swansea game DJ changed the training routines and even changed our formation from our regular shape. This is not the actions of a man who simply doesn't care, they are the actions I believe of someone who wants the result desperately.
Another reason why DJ would want to get this team promoted is the bonus I believe he will receive on achieving promotion to the Premier League. It is my understanding that Dave Jones will collect £2million if he achieves the dream of delivering promotion.
Transfer targets I am aware of are already floating about and have been for a while and in some cases for months. Loovens is a target and so is Wayne Routledge and Adam Hammill.
Steven Howard has told his agent that he likes the set up at City and "can see himself playing for the club ", there is the come and get me plea, DJ was interested in the Summer but the stumbling block would be the length of contract, I understand that Howard wants a minimum of a 2 and a half year deal.
Nick Montgomery is a player you may have read about recently as a target, in the summer he was wanted by Dave Jones and the player's agent came to the club to negotiate and wanted £10k wages p.w for the player but the board of Cardiff City refused to pay those wages for him. Montgomery has since signed a 3 year deal with Sheffield United and is currently captaining the side so he will not be coming here this January.
Cardiff City have retained their academy status as a result of the recently built House of Sport and the timing is very good as I have said before that there is plans to grade academy from next season and we will be graded at level 2 with the elite being at at level 1. There is plans also to extend to European academy's playing each other in the not so distant. The FA simply want the cream of the crop eating at the top table and want lower league clubs to be nowhere near their big guns and the European academy league is another step in that direction. Clubs lower than us are actually losing their academy status if they do not have a hydrotherapy pool.
The Malaysians have been so impressed by the recent build that they have in fact invited Steve Borley to Malaysia in the New Year to go through plans of building such a venture in their homeland.
Still no deal agreed between Langston and CCFC. There is 9 days to conclude any deal but it is looking increasingly unlikely and the club will have missed the opportunity to reduce a massive debt. Sam Hammam wants the deal to happen but unless there is talk between himself and Vincent Tan or his representatives then I cannot see any hope of it happening.
This is short update whilst I take a break from wrapping Christmas presents![]()
