Nick Montgomery to Cardiff

Nick Montgomery's name has been metioned in alot of the papers today. He is out of contract in the summer and £200,000 is the amount apparenlty we have offered. Anyone now anything about this?

I hope we get him he looks a decent player.

Pigs fans love Monty and he's EXACTLY the type of player we need in our midfield. He's not quite the standard we need if we're to maintain 4th place but then I don't expect us to.

For £200k I'd be a happy man.

Always been a right pain when playing against us. Seems a bit of a dog in midfield, just what we need.

i have not seen enough of him to comment,but our midfield are dire,very poor-no pace,cant pass,dont want to get in the box to score,they are about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike

ive just had lunch at one of my fellow enemies home and he say's Montgomery is about to sign a new contract at the sty!!!!!! He says hes a battler and always be first on blackwells team sheet when fit! So it might just be paper talk!!!!!! I will keep you all informed if i hear anything about a move to yourselves!!!!

He's not better than what we already have anyway

Very good player, great engine likes to get stuck in and would do well for us. Monty would walk into our team's midfield and stay there.

Blackwell, who also revealed he is ready to personally intervene in talks aimed at extending midfielder Nick Montgomery's deal, indicated that United's recent upturn in results, combined with the player's own improved form, could have influenced his thinking

Thanks mate, I just heard he is out of contract with sheff utd in the summer and if he doesnt renew it he is being lined up by Cardiff.

This signing would not fuill me with enthusiasm. Why do we need another defensive midfield player. We need a playmaking midfielder with an engine who can get up and down the field and chip in with the odd goal or too. Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard would be nice. Now I know were not gonna get them but someone in that mould. I like Gary O,Neill, he would do for me. Dont know his contractual situation but I have a feeling it ends this summer coming up. If so another player we could get in for a song.
