flannels

Wed Dec 22, 2010 9:29 pm

went into flannels today to buy a coat and i have to say the people in there are very friendly haha
was looking around and picked a stone island coat up and straight away "very nice coat sir looks very good on you" in a russian accent.
so i said "thanks its very warm, will do a good job keeping the cold out"
tried it on .. took it off, walked up to me and took it and bagged it very fast. felt arkward when i said i wanted to look around then.
walked up to the till and payed .. "it is a veeeeeryyy beautiful coat sir,...looks very nice on you" said sergey
 "thank you"
as i walked out "merry christmas sir..and a happy new year" counting the money i had given him
best service ive had in a shop in ages

does every one get this service in there ?
do you like that type of service in a shop or do you like looking around without any one talking ?
loads of people like different things
personally i find it rather funny

I prefer this to the normal condescending treatment you get in places like USC, Topman etc. Saying that, last time I was in there a welsh guy just followed me around as if I was on the steal.

I'm not going to complain about going into John Lewis and being called Sir haha. Some shops in London though just treat people like crap unless they know they have money, i.e. Harvey Nicks, Harrods. I would've bought something but for that :o

I work in high end retail and I always try to get my staff to act in this manner.

I think you get what you pay for and if your spending that sort of money then you deserve that attention.
I'm this climate you have to fight for every sale!!
It's all about having your customer tell others about there expereince and it's obviously worked.

There is nothing worse than when you need help and all the staff are doing f**k all and won't approach you but also feel that some sales men can be overly pushy and that does my head in!

God I need to get work out of my head lol!! :ayatollah:

suits you sir!!!! :D
