had the same problem 2 years ago at the same time.
xmas without sky!
took a gamble that it was the lnb, bought one down city road (10£)and was just a straight swap with existing lnb.
just a ladder and small spanner to change.
may be dodgy in this weather though.

Yes, there is definitely a problem with snow settling on the satellite. That's all you need Corky is a very long stick to brush the snow off the orbiting space object and the job is a good un.

I tell you what I'm full of solutions tonight.

Bejesus you will need a friggin long pole to brush the satellite   But seriously that sounds a con for an engineer to adjust your dish. It is easier to adjust a satellite dish than a normal Ariel. I used to sell them for a bit when sky first came out and we used to go down Eastville market in Bristol and just shoved a dish on the end of a pole pointed it in the right direction and bingo a first class picture. These engineers with there instruments to put the dish in an exact position is first class bull shit. Image

They are not the only ones making a killing. Gas engineers are out in force fixing peoples boilers. The massive task of pouring hot water over the outlet pipe to defrost it is a very technical task requiring years of training.
