Sun Game 70% chance of being off

Wed Dec 22, 2010 12:30 pm

Thats the opinion from staff when I went to the Stadium this morning. In my opinion that will ruin Christmas.

The rugby went ahead because the knew that like for every other game they would have a piss poor crowd. So they could put them all in one or two parts of the CCS. And also as they are all fat and stupid if they slipped and fell on the ice they would'nt harm themselves. :ayatollah:

To be honest I could understand Saturdays game being off but if the boxing day game is off that would be an absolute disgrace and heads should roll!!

I'm sure you must have read the other million or so posts explaining in precise detail the differences between the football and rugby game... but I guess I'll have to repeat just for you...

1) The weather forecast was that it would be clear AFTER Saturday afternoon. Clearing CCS and more importantly outside for our game would have had no effect given it was SNOWING SATURDAY MORNING.
2) Clearing Saturday afternoon onwards worked because there was NO MORE SNOW.
3) Blues HAD to play that game or face a heavy fine.
4) Blues also would have lost Sky money.
5) You think the club alone made the decision? Clue; Safety advisory group. Under the snow was a sheet of ice; travel was particularly bad.

So that explains why our game Saturday was off,the rugby was played on the Sunday.

Now, if you were wondering why Boxing Day game may be in doubt, that's pretty damn obvious... there was a heavy snowfall a day or so ago, not really melting. Forecast has been there will be more snow - which I doubt. So there's of course a chance it'll be off...

i can understand why saturday's game was off and the rugby was on but if the game this week is off then there's something wrong. we've had snow since sunday and there is ice, yes but there was more before the game on sunday than there is now. they had one to clear sufficiently for the rugby and they do it. i know we have bigger crowds but they should be able to clear if sufficiently in a week.
