" COULD JOE LEDLEY HAVE BEEN A LEGEND/GREAT PLAYER or WAS JOE LEDLEY A GREAT PLAYER ? "
While He was With US ?

Did he do right to move on(Forget the wage) ?
Has he bettered his playing Career ?
Will he Become a Great Player ?

He is a good player will never be a great player lacks pace.
Move showed lack of ambition scottish league is no better than our league, did Joe move to Scotland has he new he wasn't quite good enough for the premiership?
Would have been a legend if he stayed as he is a local boy and fans love local boys who play for the club.

Joe is a good player, a very good player at championship level but he was never going to be a first team regular for a big premiership side and arguably wouldn't play every game for the lesser ones or even us this season.

No i wasnt the right move in my opinion. A two team league. I think he was given the wrong advice.
Cant answer has he bettered his career as he is the forgotten man now. Havent a clue how he is playing.
Will he become a better player ? i cant see it in the Scottish league. With adecent Prem team who knows !!

Agree with most, A good championship player but will never be a great player as not mobile enough and very one sided.I personally think he should have had signed a new contract with us and had one more season with us and then moved on if we didn't progress as a clause could have been inserted in the new contract. :ayatollah:

when he was playing on the left and scoring goals yes, he used to ghost into the box all day long with a great work rate, but jones turned him into a backwards and sideways player, so all in all i was glad he left.

but will always be remembered for his goal against barnsley :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Average player who was very overated! No pace, no skill, average passer, average tackler, poor assist and goal ratio but he worked hard! Nothing to write home about!

45 minute player in my opinion !

Good player not great, wouldn't rate him as a good a wide-man as the likes of Willie Anderson, Dave Bennett just to name a couple !

We will all have fond memories of Joe for his time at the City, but as I've said before I think he will struggle now to get in the national team when everyone is fit !

It was a terrible move for his career, he is an average player and may have now missed his chance in the prem.

i cancelled my sky sports last month and got talking to a celtic fan sky switchboard operator. we ended up talking about cardiff, celtic and rangers for 45 mins! he said ledley along with loovens are useless up there and cant see why they are rated so high south of the border. he also spoke very highly of chris burke. he said, burke was outstanding up there and a massive fans favourite!

I think we have missed Joe this season and yes I think he was a great player for us but short of legend status.

I was reading an article the other day about Joe seems he thinks he made the right decision.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/s ... -22794549/

If he had chosen Roma he would still be playing in the Champions League so it's hard to accept this move was for purely football reasons. I think missing out on Seria A football will hold back is development as a player and maybe he will never recover from that.

But family is important and having them settled is very important and the money will give them longterm security so the best of luck to him.

Still wish he was wearing the Blue but unlike others he gave everything he had in the playoff final so nothing but best wishes from me. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

In my opinion only;
1) A great player for Cardiff
2) Move to Celtic good moneywise for him
3) Career development: the jury is out on this
4) Play in the Premiership as a regular first team player top half: No way

Joe ledley, the missing link? Last season he was atrocious at times, he isn't fit to lace Oli's boots!!! The only position he would get in the team would be left back! Such an average player who has done very little to justify the hype and fan fare!

i dont think so, played well for the city, untill stoke put that bid in for him, then on .,his .heart was with the premiership, and his agent fucked that up?

I wish he hadn't gone to Septic, I don't see how a player can develop in that league. I think it will damage his technique

Sorry, but NO, NO and, erm, NO!!

My stance on Joe's departure has softened to the extent that I no longer give a shit what he's up to or how his 'career' is progressing....but I will admit he WAS a good player for us on times.

Was NEVER going to be a TRUE legend, though (would he be in YOUR first eleven of City greats??) so as I said, it's three NO's from me....!!!!

Personally I do not think that Ledley has been the same player since we turned that bid down from Stoke. He seemed to sulk for the rest of the season and last season no bids came in for him. I did not think his last season was very good either so in light of his service to the club and as a prospect for the national team I hoped his move to Celtic would revitalise him and he would continue his development.

How wrong could I be? Against Bulgaria he was the worst player on the pitch and that includes terrible performances by Ashley Williams and Danny Collins (oh how Toshack was right about this one!) and I was saying by half time he needed to be brought off. Either hes not going to develop or he is one of those players that peaks early and does not develop.

Not the right move to go to Celtic? Ok, its a crap league but make no mistake Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Thats a fact. One of the biggest clubs in the world and they are paying him very well. Stoke or Celtic? That should be a no brainer, I would go to Celtic every time.

Will he become a great player? I cant see how he would get in the current City team as he is simply not as good as a fully fit McPhail, Drinkwater or Olinfinjana and he hasnt got the pace to play out wide anymore. He also would not get in the Wales team if we had a fully fit Collison and Ramsey and I do think that Joe Allen is going to be a better player too.
