Fools braving the weather

What has caused the traffic chaos today is everyone, despite the forecast saying that it was going to snow heavily this morning, taking a chance and braving it into work, then all going home at the same time in very bad conditions.

Add to that the very poor standard of driving in snow. Driving too close, bunching up on hills instead of stopping at the bottom in order to give yourself a run up.

I drove all the way from Magor to Coryton in the outside lane, past miles and miles of traffic queuing in the other two lanes - there was only an inch of snow in the outside lane!! Yet no one would dare use it. The result, I got home in around and hour, while a workmate of mine who patiently queued for no reason, took over 3 hours!

Don't be a hero, stay home.

It's a fcking joke- the same people who shout "the Govt and Country can't deal with the snow and bring the Country to a standstill" then go and try and drive a rear wheel drive car in the snow..... fcking clowns!!

I am in the Valleys and i have had to make the decision not to attempt to make it into work for my last night shift. Made it in yesterday and it was treacherous and at times i did wonder weather my car would make it in one piece. The snow is the easy bit to drive on its the -8 and 9 that is making it dangerous. If i had a 4x4 then i would have a go but not my Mondeo Going from Gilfach Bargoed heading for junction 28 on the M4 there was hundreds of cars just abandoned everywhere which made it even harder to drive along as the roads were a lot narrower. Pissed off i will have to use next years holiday though

Even worse is the selfish bastards parking their cars,away from their houses at bottom of hills etc opposite other cars on narrow roads making it impossible for gritters and buses to move around.

I walked back from work just a few minutes ago, the amount of idiots on the road is incredible, but here's the best part....someone trying to get through the snow......wait for it......in a smartcar. -.-
