i gave money to a beggar yesterday,never done it before

i rarely do it. if i knew it woud go towards a coffee i would give most of the time. but if its gonna go on cheep cider and rollies then im less likey

I remember one man asked my sister for money to get food for his dog.....she got her husband to pick her up with a tin of dog food....dont think he said thank you mind, like Milly said he would have prefered a cheap bottle of cider

Yeah, I know it's bad but I do have a 'can't feed the world' attitude. I give money once a month to a random charity but it's never the same charity. I'll put money in a collection tin or donate online. Like Milly said though, I'm a bit against giving money to beggars because you can't guarantee it will be used correctly.

Asides from this though credit to your generosity. Not many people would show the same approach and that shows a lot on your character.

milly,as i said iv never done it before for that reason,but yesterday i felt guilty,going back to my centraly heated house i just couldnt walk past

That is a great idea for the future when chavs outside a shop ask you to get their booze in.

Yeah, I didn't mention whether they were male or female chavs... still, doesn't make it any better!

Doubt very much if he bought Coffee with that Chief. It would be different if you bought him the coffee then gave it to him. That would of been diferent

well its upto him,he was drinking cofee at the time so,well i hope he used it wisely,but i do know were everyone is coming from

I very often give money to beggers, a quid here and there makes no difference to me at all, but if it makes a slight difference to help someone else less fortunate then why not. Mind you, one Christmas a few years back, I gave £5 to a young begger I took pity on and his mobile phone went off in his jacket as I was handing it over.

I know must of them are wasters but a lot have just had a bit of bad luck in life and cant get jobs for what ever reason .
I always give remember you dont see foreign people begging on the street.

Like Milly, I don't give to beggars because they more than likely are after booze rather than a hot drink or food, but I do occasionally buy a Big Issue. Although I did give a couple of times in Bangkok recently, as it broke my heart to see people begging with their young children (toddlers}on the pavement around the shopping areas.

I fed the birds this morning it felt good, work to hard for my money to give it away
half these beggars are pros if i new which was which i would still give them nothing

Remember some of these people have mental problems and should be in hospitals but because labour decided to throw these people out of menal hospitals and into hostels
