CCS Pitch & The Egg on TV now

Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:48 pm

Now this really does annoy me. The pitch looks in very good condition and the Grandstand completely clear of snow. I suggested to my son that maybe other parts of the stands were iced up, but all areas look fine.

You look at the Ipswich game yesterday which got through despite a snow storm. The ref had to take the players off and groundstaff worked like trojans. Then you look at the CCS pitch on TV today and you just cannot explain how our game did not go ahead.

The car park and surrounding areas would, today, be more treacherous than yesterday as now it is iced over, whereas yesterday it was fine powder like snow. One thing I agree with, the valleys supporters would not have made it and that would have hit the attendance & atmosphere ( ;) ) hard, but its still somewhat laughable.

It tells me that the egg wield a bit more power at CCS tha we think........ :o

Did CCFC just not want to stage the game?

First of all the Ipswich game would have been called off if
A) It was not on sky
B) If Ipswich had not been 3-0 up

If the blues game was called off they would have had a fine which would hurt their finance as well as the fact the game is on tv. Look there were 2 games in the Premier League and not many in the FL. Yesterday the weather beat football not just Cardiff

I accept your point of view, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the stadium & pitch look remarkable...

The guy that called it off was the Safety Advisor from the council in conjunction with the football league, nothing to do with CCFC. Health & Safety regulations basically. Not that difficult to understand surely ffs?
