I know the matches haven't finished yet, but the very fact that we're in the position where not only QPRs result but anyone in the top 7's matters to us is inducing rage in me. We should be at the top now, laughing away at the teams below us taking points off each other. Instead, we've let them all back in with a chance - making our lives even harder, and WASTING such a position of privilage.
I'm not being cocky or delusional here, on paper we've the best team in the league, and we pay the wages that lead us to have that - we've got a manager who is not the best in the league, but the highest paid. People at our club have allegedly got aspirations of us being an Arsenal, Premiership type team. If this is the case then firstly the hierachy should be in place to ease the transition in case of a manager being dismissed, and secondly, the club should act accordingly and take action that will erase our perfomance issues. Our position and form in the league is that of a team on little resources and little ability, and NO ONE can argue that this is how it should be. I don't expect to win every match, no where near. But DAVE JONES GAVE AWAY HIS PRIVILAGE TO HAVE SLUMPS WHEN HE SIGNED SO MANY TALENTED PLAYERS IN THE SUMMER
******Sorry if I've pissed anyone off with this. I know we haven't actually played today, but I am very stressed and frustrated with whats happened, and this is just what I think.

Have to say I feel the same, seeing Leeds above us is really pissing me off! When we hammered them 6 weeks ago we were 2nd, just off the top, and they were 15th!!!!!!! Look at our squad compared to Leeds', it's far superior yet they are above us!! Surely DJS most ardent fans have to see that this is a joke and if allowed to continue we could soon be worrying about making the play offs rather than automatic promotion! The Great Bottler is at work again!!!!!

Ii also feel if there was a way back under the manager, then it would've happened by now, or at least glimpses would be evident. I think this time there is no way back, I could see us slipping even further with 4 VERY difficult matches coming up, 3 of which are against teams that have the potential to steal promotion. As much as we could win all four, the opposite could realistically happen

My basis of opinion is we've been in worse places before with Jones and he's turned us around so I have confidence we will get out of this patch. If it doesn't improve over the next few weeks then we should really look at things.

well said matey

He had what some would call valid excuses for being in those worse places before; this time we should not have even be near places like that. As I said, he gave up that right by getting whi he wanted in the Summer.

We outplayed them at their place we all agree that, but not sure that they are necessarily less talented than us. They have a host of players that would grace our team - I would take Bruce, Collins, Howson, Becchio and Snodgrass any day.

I agree, we keep going on about Jones and that his whole squad is brilliant. Is that really true?
At the start of theseason if you were picking a squad from the whole of the championship, who would you of picked from City?
Bothroyd, Bellamy, Chopra, Whitts, Koumas, Burke?
Thats not a whole team. The money wasnt available for more and neither was there a great deal of quality availability.
Just my opinion but I think we are deluding ourselves that Jones is managing a team of galacticos.
Also what about those players....Who would you pick now on merit? Bothroyd?
The players need to step up, and I firmly believe they will, starting by thumping Coventry!
oh and we need to do our bit.. starting Boxing day!

It simple maths for me:
Bottler / gutless x stubbon + (lack of people skills x arrogant) - one dimensional x inability to admit you totally fucked your tactics up + (if we got promoted to premiership last year + we wouldn't have any points - as we would defend and not go for it like Blackpool + cos of gutlessness) = DAVE JONES
Admitadly I am no Carol Vorderman and there are a number of ways to get to the same answer but I think this one sums it up best!
In my opinion we are in the position we are in due to one game (swansea) and Dave Jones not showing any confidence in his own players ability and now subconsciously are repaying his lack of belief. If he never changed his tactics for the jacks game and went for it I believe we would have at least a 5 point lead now not sitting out of automatic promotion places in a very average league that at the start of the season had no clear favourite like so many years before.
You reap what you soe Jones!

Hold on a sec am i the only person that thinks yesterdays results couldnt of gone any better. Yeh ok leeds are above us by a single point but have played 1 more game.
Qpr have lost their last 2 matches if they won both those games they would now be TEN points clear of us and have played the same amount of games.
Swansea have only taken 1 point out of their last 2 if they had won both those games even they would be Five points clear of us.
The point id like to make is if other teams recent results went against us we could now be sat in 4th position staring up at 3 teams that have clear ground on us. But we are not we are 3rd with a game in hand over the swans and leeds.
If or rather when we beat Coventry on boxing day we will be on 40 points back in the automatic position.
Things could be far worse than the current picture we are all looking at.
We are no arsenal not by a long shot yeh we have some awesome players but we also have some shit players. Lets not forget 11 players makes a football team. This league is the hardest of all leagues to get out of. Any team can beat any other team.
Every team will have will hit form at some point our time was october with 5 out of 5 wins, leeds are having their run at the moment. And every team will stutter at some point we are going through that right now along with qpr and the swans.
This is how i think things will unfold. By having 2 weeks off all the players will be fresh and they will all know what they need to do. We will start with a certain 3 points against Coventry. Confidence will come back and we shall start to take more points off other teams. Come January if Dave jones gets it right with the transfers (we all know that our defence is dyer and so does he) we will go on to start smashing other teams.
I still believe we will win this league lets stay positive and get behind our team/players starting next sunday. Negativity will be the end of us. Onwards and upwards we go

Under Jones I fully believe we will not finish in the top 6, leaving Chops out is only one reason why, I could go on but I too am really pissed off.

fair play matey, very well put!! yes we can all have a winge about our position. But I also believe yesterdays results went our way with leeds beating qpr and the swans loosing!! Come on we have a game in hand and in third place!! There is lots of quality in this division and I think at the begining of the season lots of us thought we would run away with the league because of our signings but that isnt the case, and looking at the table I think we'd all agree, its going to be tight up there until the end of the season. (I have all the confidence that we will be right up there!!)
Roll on January so we can tighten that defence up!!

I've requoted myself in reference to the last 2 posts saying 'we're in a good position' after yesterday.

And the very fact that he got us into worse places before is surely a worrying recurrence

While I am a card carrying critic of Jones for 3 years now it must be noted that in this division you can be in our position at this time of the season and get relegated at the end of it. You can lose over ten games and still win the league, long way to go yet. We arent drawing games which is actually better but we have to start winning again
