super squad

The general opinion that we have a super squad doesnt wash with me .we may have more numbers but the quantity outweighs the quality by far.Players like koumas ,keogh,naylor,riggot,etc were brought in to strenghten the team coupled with the form shown by senior players like hudson, gyepes ,chopra,marshall has shown we do maybe need more than five new players in jan and shift a few out to make room for them.I am still of the opinion that we will make the play offs but without changes we will fail to go up automatically.

But they were VIRTUALLY DAVE JONES WORDS BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED, HIS BEST EVER SQUAD HE STATED.

I agree Annis but with the exception of Jay the rest of them have been average.And indeed if we could have shown the form of the leeds performance just a few more times we would be romping this ordinary standard league

On paper I think it is a super squad. If one or two players were playing poorly, it could be put down their own problems be they technical or mental. However, with so many of them playing poorly, all since the Swansea match in particular, the fault would have to be attributed to the manager doing something/things that have basically messed it up for us

I still think its the best squad in the league by amile,however i'm a massive supporter of dj and it used to do my head with all the bad threads on here bout him.BUT in all fairness he's deserved it since i heard ali's anouncent of the squad at the swansea game.He's playing to every other teams strengths instead of ours.We frighten teams with our attacking play or we USED to!!!!

In fairness this is his best squad and that is showing in the league table.

yes we are second but the two most significant factors which has affected our form, being the failure to have a similar type of option for jay and negative tactics from the manager

in fairness there's only 1 jay bothroyd and what he brings to our squad!whoever dj brings in wont do his job,the way jay does it.11 men in a team,not just him!realistically,we need to tie him to a contract tho but thats down to him as well as the city board.its easy to say offer him stupid money,but jay must want to stay....

yes bob but someone of his type and stature has been needed for a while while we persevere with the long high ball to a front man

only 1 player i can think of is emile heskey(might get shouted down about this)i dont think he would drop down a division or take a pay cut tho.i rate him

Heskey would do a very good job at this level but he isnt as good as Jay and he wont come to sit on the bench.
Thats the problem, to get a real Jay replacement it will cost a lot of money and lets be honest only used in a few games when Jay is out.

Of course that makes sense,but do you honestly think jay will stay with us?I'm hoping he will,but i think there'll be a few teams in for him in january,if not then definately end of season
