The pitch isnt the problem with the undersoil heating, its the surrounding areas.

Its started coming down heavy again in Cardiff

Ridiculously heavy now in Merthyr

I knew all the time that the dragons match would damage the pitch and now its gone all white

Why didnt they cover it?

BBC says it should be on, because the club have enlisted loads of plows/diggers etc

The sheer volume of snow would suggest that even covering it wouldn't have been of much use.

Sometimes the snow can be better because it acts as a blanket to protect the pitch from frost and ice. I remember hearing a groundsman on SKY Sports talk about it. He said covering the pitch can often make it harder to deal with.

Nathan, you did well to get from Merthyr to Cardiff to take the photo, then & back in this weather!

Merthyr is mad at the moment!
