Given his performance vs the mighty Burton, he can stay at Hull... made Gyepes look like Beckenbauer.

Unfit, pissed off, disillusioned. Gerrard at Cardiff.

Wanted, respected, rated. Gerrard at Hull.

By all accounts he's having a great season for them. Fall out with Dave Jones
and thats that, game over (particularly if your a young player)....Why oh why
did the stubborn tw*t not sit down with the lad and sort it out???.... Because
yet again... NOBODY can question his decisions (unless they are expensive signings
and household names of course!)

So who has been the better player these last five months. Gerrard or Riggott

Not exactly a 'great' season for Gerrard, but he doesnt seem to be doing too bad according to this, which was about all I could find.. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tn ... 2119195224

As for Jones, maybe he had enough on his plate with Bothroyd, Chopra, Koumas etc.. soem of the things Gerrard has said might well have pissed his team-mates off as well, and that shape and his performances in pre-season and against Burton were not good.

IMHO he did for himself, its a shocking attitdue from a player who gets well paid to represent OUR club - and I certainly wasnt impressed with him coming back looking like Adam Jones.

my nan and her wheelchair wouldve done a better job against burton

He was loaned out because of his mouth apparently and upsetting players
Perhaps we would have to give Oli back if we got Gerrard back.

I felt sorry for Gerrard as he and Blake were the best ch partnership we had last season, our midfield was poor last season and never forget the great performance against Notts Forest away they battered us but our defence played really well , yes Gerrard and Marshall got in a row but walked off the pitch laughing at each other but during the game they showed passion.

Then Gerard gets injured and misses the 1st semi against Leicester and Hudson didnt do bad but in the 2nd semi at home Hudson was a disaster and we lost the game 3-2 that to me proved that Gerrard should have started in the play off final not Hudson.

During the summer is was clear Jones was going to drop Gerrard and the kid let himself go but is playing well now and to me proving he is better then what we got at the moment better then Gypes and Hudson.

Gerrard plays better with a good CH next to him he is young like Roger Johnson in all fairness Purse helped him but Hudson didnt help Gerrard and in an interview in the summer Gerrard stated that he enjoyed playing with Darcy but Jones made another blunder in my view for the play off final and I truly believe we would be doing better with Gerrard and blake in the middle and top of the league at the moment

I don't understand the loving with Gerrard, Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, he's very passionate, and It's great to say "Gerrard is a bluebird"
But thats about it, he's slow, arkward and shakey, as far as this season is concerned we need to buy better and hopefully Gerrard will come back with a learning mentality, and use them as guidances and develop into a better player,
To summarise, I don't rate him as a player but believe he has potential :ayatollah:

No love-in with the guy at all

but look who we got in to replace him... Chris Riggott! who hasnt kicked a ball in anger yet!

This season Gerrard certainly seems to have proved his point, because he is well rated at
Hull. Whereas Hudson and Gypes are consistently making silly mistakes and look shaky under
pressure.

I agree Gerrard needed his arse kicking for his attitude, but Jones doesnt do that, he just turns
his back and thats that. Perhaps that was part of the problem... Gerrard knew hed never get a
look in again!!!

Riggott if/when fit is a class above Gerrard.

Gerrard was a punt on a player from a lower level.

He couldn;t have written it better himself.

Fair play, our defensive record was good when Blake and Gerrard played together for that handful of games while Hudson was injured, but they were never tested against a big striker, and the Forest game you describe was just one example of when we got ripped apart but the opposition failed to punish us. Credit to them as the facts back them up, but luck was definately on our side.

On to the play-off semi. Hudson was widely acknowledged as MOM at leicester where we kept a clean sheet. It would have been crazy to drop him after that. As for the semi, sorry Hudson didnt have a mare, Blake got found out against the first big guy who had played against us since Hudson got injured (apart frm Kuqi who had easily won everything while he was on for the Jacks and he's hardly a giant,) , but its convenient to blame Hudson.

As for Hudson 'helping' Gerrard, have you heard gerrard speak - he wouldnt take notice of anyone - his comments about the play-off final were all about him 'it should have been me and Darcy'. Selfish shit he should have kept to himself. There is no comparison between him and Johnson, Johnson is 2-3 inches taller for a start, and has far more pace and accuracy in his challenges. If Gerrard sorts his head out he can become a decent player, but he'll never be as good as Johnson, or Gabbidon, or Collins, or Loovens (when he left).

I cant beleive anyone is siding with him sulking and getting out of condition. He's a pro FFS on money we can only dream of, representing the club we love. Kissing the badge while its going well and cheating on us when it isnt. If he's a payer who is supposed to have balls then he could have shown it by working harder, and longer, solving his positional issues, learning not to dive in, working on his pace and jumping. No, he took the cowards way out by going out and getting pissed.

He's doing Ok at Hull, by their standards -and lets not forget they are shit -and he looked poor against us - AND our defense has performed better than theirs without him.

Hopefully he'll come back next year a more mature player with abit more respect for team-mates and manager. If not then its goodbye.
As for Blake, sorry, he's too small to be a centre half - the fact that so many are whinging about him having to mark Parkin or Howard proves that to me. Thats not forgetting that Simon Church won everything in the air against him and Gerrard last season and he's no more than average with his head.

Do you think Hull would've signed Gyppo if they had the chance, over Gerrard? Or even possibly Hudson? I don't think so. Victim of the DJ management effect. Regardless of whether Gerrard is the same standard as the centre backs we should be looking to buy, compared with what we have, we should've kept him.
