Well, people say we should treat disabled people the same!
In all seriousness though I would like to hear all sides of the story and hear what was said. I'm not excusing the behaviour of what the police did and it is wholly unacceptable initially. However, just because the guy is in a wheelchair it doesn't make him immune to being an offensive, gobby, abusive c**t. I'm not saying he is but I'm just saying being in a wheelchair doesn't give anyone the right to do or say what they like. Who knows what he said or threatened to do?
On the flip side, it wouldn't be the first time the police have abused their power.

Coppers are bastards. End of.

Treat disabled the same? yeah but if he can't even push himself or move anyway to threat a policeman why are they doing that? should't do it to anyone in genral if their not doing anything,ACAB.

f*cking scum ob. What kind of threat can a man with cerebral palsy in a wheelchair honestly have too able bodied cops?
Nothing will happen. They killed Ian Tomlinson & we are still waiting for justice.

always said it takes a certain kind to join the old bill, mainly the ones who were misfits at school & bullied. Easy way for them to take revenge on Joe public.

Saw this lad on the tv the other day, and whilst I don't agree with some of his views, I thought the way he appeared to be treated was horrendous. There was nothing he could've really done to the police, except wheel into them(don't mean this as a joke). No need for force AT ALL.
As for whether he said something to them? So what. It is people that PHYSICALLY did damage in London that the cops should've been reprimanding. No wonder all those scumbags inside the pens were able to keep smashing the windows of our historic buildings - the police were probably too busy pushing their weight around at people who clearly weren't causing criminal damage, puttign others in danger at the same time from the real thugs.

if an able bodied person goes upto and verbaly abuses the police on saturday they will be dragged off quite roughly under arrest.
the guy in the wheelchair was dragged off the same way as anyone else would be which is fair if the guy was abusive..
we should all be treated equally not one rule for some and diferent rules for others..
thats only going by if the guy was abusive mind. if he wasnt then its out of order

That's very true, anyone of us being abusive to a copper would have that treatment. However, it's a case of whether in a situation like that, where the city is in chaos, surely the police would've been better off directing their attention to people causing actual damage rather than a few gobby students?

Gobbing off to the coppers? It takes him 10 minutes to get a few words out. He's hardly going to get a chant started is he.

I believe disabled people should be treated exactly the same as people who are not disabled and I am sure they would prefer this also.
Having viewed the video I faile to see how this guy posed any threat at all. His speech is bad. His movement appears poor. I do not believe he could have thrown anything and therefore rather than hitting this guy with a truncheon or pulling him from his mode of transport the police would have been better served grabbing hold of the handles and moving the wheelchair to another area - avoiding the bad PR they have now got.
The guy clearly has radical views and I do not necessaryily agree with those. However, at times, the police do not do themselves any favours.

i am disabled myself i don't agree with it at all but then again i rather be treated the same as anybody else, i got cerbral palsy myself he got bad case of it, don't by looks it he could not defend himself and bein abusive he mite of been but prob would not say he would., i don't agree with some of his views like some of rest of people who post on here.
but it put bad thing on the police, see if they name and shame the officer. maybe he was easy target, but way he is he landed wrongley it could of made his conditon alot worse

like me with cerbral palsy luckley i can walk but if i fall or get pushed in way and do it wrongly then i could seriouly damage myself.
anyway does this deflect the madness of that day from the people who did cause the probs? yep.

I just love the fact that virtually everybody has the ability to capture the rozzers on video nowadays. All we need now is a justice system that is willing to punish them if they overstep the mark. In my dreams

annis we live in sad opressed times, the government allow only peaceful demonstrations which dont make the media and change nothing, the only way to be heard and seen is to be forceful, just look at the french,im not condonning violence or anything like it but at times marching is not enough, our police have been turned against the working class and seek any chance to use there force to the full potential, and we live in a democracy,b@ll@cks
