Hang on, it's not as if he's been given his job back is it? He's appealed against it. There is no way on earth that will be upheld so how on earth has the country gone to ruin?

What most people don't know though is he'll have to fund the legal costs himself unless he's in a union who's paying it for him.

Like everyone else I didn't know that if you want to go to tribunal then you need legal insurance to cover the costs. You will not get legal aid. Unbelievably the last Labour government (who are supposed to represent the working man) withdrew legal aid from industrial tribunals. So now unless you've got legal insurance that will cover the very expensive process of a tribunal then you could be sacked for nothing and there's f**k all you can do about it.

No doubt he will get legal aid to do the appeal.

The bloke is a total scumbag- a work colleague of mine's dad was on the jury at his trial and what he did to that woman was disgusting.

Didn't you read my post? You can't get legal aid for industrial tribunals anymore.

That's absolutely correct.

At one time you could get a legal aid certificate for around £500 (sometimes up to a £1000) which could be spent getting a solicitor to do the preparation.

However, you had to pay him to represent you at tribunal or you could represent yourself.

TBH if you feel strongly enough about your dismissal I would represent yourself, it’s not that hard to do, or get someone to do it for you. I have done it 4 times for friends and family and I even took my wife's claim the Appeal Court in London, just to be a nuisance.

Unlike other Civil Courts costs will not be awarded against you unless your claim is extremely frivolous, so just for the bugger it factor it’s worth doing.

Obvious frivolous claims can be kicked out before they even get anywhere near a tribunal hearing and I suspect this claim by the murdering Postman is heading that way and will be struck out at a Summary Hearing.
