" A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

Wed Dec 15, 2010 2:05 pm

Just Say if We Never Reached the Premiership(Which SHOULD DEF NOT HAPPEN WITH THE WAGES WE PAY and THE CURRENT QUALITY OF THIS SQUAD, THE BEST IN THE DIVISION).

SO Say WE NEVER REACH THE PREMIER THIS SEASON,

Jay then Def wont Renew his Contract, Burke, Rae and Mattews will also be Free Agents.

Come May 2011, What Will The Value of Our Squad be ?
What Quality of Players will We be Left With ?

What Position Will We be left in ? and Will We then Need Million(£) to be invested in for the Following Season ?

Carl, I Want you to Answer this as Well :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Will depend on certain players contracts being renewed.

I find it unthinkable that this squad won't get us up. I do agree we need players in to give us depth, as what we have in reserve isn't enough. I don't think the value will decrease though, other than the loss of Bellers.

With the current squad we have we should be walking this league, somethings not right and i cant work out wether its the players fault or DJ or perhaps a bit of both.

Its our defence that is going to cost us promotion and if we dont go up then obviously all our loan players will go back and in my opinion we would need to rebuild again and spend a few million, wether that will be available is another thing.

Paul, They are Not being Renewed.
Jay does not want to, Burke and Matthews Seems to have upset DJ

Dai, We should be Running away with it, WE HAVE AMAZING QUALITY in OUR SQUAD.

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

if we dont go up. i can honestly see the malaysians not being here come next season.
that will leave us in the shit bigtime. all our loanies will be gone back to there original clubs, along with the posibility of JAY, BURKEY MATTHEWS and CHOPS (possiblly) not renewing contracts or moving on.
which is why promotion this year will be crucial.

so malaysians if you say you want a quick return on your investment, do you........... ????

sack dave jones and it would cost X amount in compo and a contract for a new manager, but possible premiership football and the money it would bring.
or
do you stick with dave jones and run the risk of still being in the champ and ending at a loss anyway?

I would gamble and sell them all in January then. Strange re Burke - as he's said in the press up here a few times lately that he wants to stay.

Look at our current squad then remove the loan players then remove the out of contract players and it doesnt leave a lot , Swansea seem to set the example by doing well without splashing the cash on players and wages . Maybe a new manager at CCFC is all thats needed and pick up free transfers etc ? Having been a City fan for too many years I sometimes come to expect failure again being so close to the top division ........... OK various promotions out of the old 3rd and 4th divisions have been good BUT under Jones I cant see us making the final push , sorry !

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

To be honest I think its a clever move.
People go on about the massive wage bill we have, well if we had signed all the loan players it would have been much bigger and for a lot longer.

If we don't go up then the loan players return together with those mention leaving on frees and we get back to a minimal wage bill and start living within our means.

Jay and Burke leaving will be big losses of course.
Matthews IMO is massively overrated, disspointed we dont get a small fee for him but so be it.
Rae a blessing when he is off the wage bill.

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

Wed Dec 15, 2010 2:42 pm

imo if we fail to make the premiership this season then it will be 2/3 seasons before we will be in this position again..... the quality of the players we have we really should be 10/15 points clear of the rest,

millions are going to be needed regardless of the outcome of this season, as a championship club i think we will find it hard to find any major investment next season, as a premiership club then i think real investment of around ten million is needed simply to put a side together capable of staying up...... :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i cant believe how things have gone from such a positive situation to the situation we are in now,and with the same players :S.

they need to perform and DJ needs to get them to perform.if he doesnt get us promotion with the squad we have the he needs to consider quitting management coz to be honest he is a laughing stock at the moment.

we have a club of massive under acheivers. i think if we dont go up this season and the mentioned players all go we will find ourselves in a religation battle next year,no dout about it.

And Whose fault will it be?? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

WE HAVE AMAZING QUALITY in OUR SQUAD.

do we really have AMAZING quality? out of a squad of 25 players, imo, you could only class 4 players maybe 5, who i regard as Quality, the rest of the squad are just average joe's of the championship

we have a premiership quality attack

a championship quality midfield

and a league 1 defence...

To put it simply: I think we will end up where Boro and Preston are this season. Massive underacheivers, with a real and urgent possibilty of going to League One. I also think the Championship will be VERY strong next season, which won't help.

Quite simple answer to this one Annis, City will go bust if they don't get promoted.

And that unfortunately is a FACT

---------------------------------------Heaton---------------------------------------
-McNaughton-------------Hudson-----------Gyepes/Riggott------------Naylor-
-£500k-£1m--------------McPhail-----------Wildig-----------------£500k-£1m-

Whittingham (sold)
Bellamy (end of loan)
Drinkwater (end of loan)
Olofinjana (end of loan)
Keogh (end of loan)
Koumas (end of loan)

If we don't go up with these players then I can't say I'd have a problem with any going (apart from Kevin McNaughton, he can stay!). If we don't go up I'd say it would be time to replace Jones and start from scratch. How much investment would we need? That depends on the new manager but there are plenty of bargains to be had and we've signedsome of our best players in recent times on a budget e.g. McNaughton, Marshall, Whittingham, Bothroyd, Chopra, McCormack etc.

It won't be the end of the world if we don't go up, it will just be a massive f*cking inconvenience. I have faith we will go up this season though so this topic is redundant! :D

Really? are you a club accounting director then?

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:16 pm

This season is a simple case of "Monte Carlo or bust" for City, imho. Failure to get promotion would signal the end of DJ's reign, & a complete & utter clear out of the squad & coaching staff, not all bad news, depending on your view points. The current squad of players may be the best on paper, but as a team things just have not gelled. I'm not to sure things can be turned around this season, time will tell.

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:21 pm

Merlin,

Nope Im not a director but I do have half a brain, do you not think if we fail this time then the owners wont cut n run?

They are after a quick return on their outlay and wont wait another season. Cardiff are gambling on this season and you wonder why there's so much pressure on the manager etc

Re: " A QUESTION TO EVERYONE "

Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:45 pm

There is a manager is charge that they haven't hired though so if we fail this season I wouldn't be surprised if they change manager and give it another go their way. They committed too much to do this as a one off. As someone else said, this isn't the big picture. The Malaysians have bigger plans beyond football and we're just the start. Owning a Premiership team will earn them millions and millions. If that means 3-4 years gutting it out in the Championship for them then they will do it.
