I read these Sad Messages Virtually every Few Days.

Could Someone Tell Me Why Our Country/Brave Soldiers are Fighting in Afghanistan ?
I am Fully behind our Soldiers what ever happens.

RIP to CPL Derek Wyatt who died on the 6 December while serving in Afghanistan, he left behind a wife and a new born son who came into this world approx 24 hours after this heart breaking news. Re-post this to honor this Welsh Guard hero!!!

well said Baz ................. cant let these raghead bastards rule the world with terror , altho our troops are falling and its so sad to hear about them its a small price to pay for the bigger picture . Not small to the families concerned I know BUT the guys out there are doing a job and each and every 1 of them knows that and are proud to serve and proud to be there . Thoughts with ALL the familes who have lost a HERO !

This is why I always give to Help for hero's when approached. Our service personnel are daily putting their lives at risk to protect us from these fanatics.

I do agree though aherne until the israeli situation is resolved we are going to continue to see attacks on the west.

We went into Afghan originally to rid the Taliban as they were hiding and funding Al Queda. After 9/11, something had to be done. I fully backed the Afghan and Iraq wars. Hundreds of thousands of Kurds were murdered by Saddam. And the Taliban were just as ruthless. Throwing acid over any woman who dared read a book, stone any woman who revealed her face to a man, and skin men alive because they disagreed with Taliban methods.

When the threat of terrorism was next door in Ireland, no one moaned about our troops being there. But because Afghan is thousands of miles away, its a case of out of sight, out of mind, so why get involved?

Martyn, I think it speaks volumes that a former military man like you is for it. My brother served in Iraq twice and he truly believed he was doing good there.

i have family out there fighting. my cousan is in the paratroopers, most of his close mates dies in one explosion. he returned home a few weeks back and is now a mess, turned to alcohol, and is mentally fucked. hes gone back out there now, but is a totally different person.

but they all do a great job, even if they dont get the help (with mental issues/illness) financially etc

billy,please dont become another wasted young BRITISH life,when i was your age war broke out in the falklands 10000s of miles away,but i felt that british people were at risk and i to wanted to do my bit,but iraq afghanistan etc,this is about minerals etc,we were never under threat,this has happened since we invaded these coutries.but as iv said before i support 2 charities ty hafan and the poppy appeal,,it hurts me to see young brave men (and women)like yourself sacrificed and in my honest opinion needlessly.my thoughts are for all our servicemen killed during these conflicts.

my lad is back out there come March April for the third time. He doesnt think we
are doing one bit of good. its all cosmetic. He has had to watch while Afghan police
drag young boys into compounds smiling AT him and his mates, then coming out
an hour later once these poor kids have been well and truly 'interrogated'.. They are
forced to sit on their hands and do nothing. Every school, every Library, every
medical centre the Allies have built will be blown to bits within a year of us pulling
out.

Put simply by my son (who is quite bright, must be off his mother)... when we leave..
the very first school blown up, the very first teacher beheaded, the very first child
murdered will mean everyone of the brave lads who have lost their lives will have been
for nothing. Afghanistan will be back to square one, and we all know its going to happen!

Thankfully, for the majority of our boys. They dont give a f**k about Afghanistan, or
its government, or our government, or flags, religion or race... they are only arsed
about their oppo's. The lads next to them who are knee deep in shit. THATS who they
are fighting for!

We have the SRR now (undercover special forces) they are patrolling the streets of Britain.
They are alleged to be about 150 strong, even less numbers than the SBS... The trillions of
pounds we have wasted in Afghanistan could EASILY make Britain a safe place to live. Just
imagine 1500 of these undercover lads, or 3000!!!.... these Muslim bombers wouldnt have a
f*cking chance. Pakistanis etc are forever disappearing anyway. Abdul bummed the wrong
little boy, or kissed the wrong girl... back of a van.... straight to the abbatoir and away we
go.... Just let our Special Forces loose on them in Britain and they'd soon wind their necks in!!

Oh, just as a disclaimer, before the PC boys jump on me... this would apply to the Christian bombers
and terrorists too. (ooops there arent any)

Annis I have said this to you in the past I think if we weren't fighting these guys there we would be fighting them here. ALL members of the military are volunteers. We are not forced to join up.

When I went to Afghanistan I said to my parents that if the worst was to happen then I didn't want any of my family slating the government or Blair/Brown etc as I am a volunteer and I know that being in the military means I may have to go to places like this. I feel I am making our country stronger and lots of soldiers do. IF we pull out now it is a sign of weakness and they will take advantage.

I am merely in the RAF and not a front line soldier like the heroes in the Army/Marines etc. I am sure a lot of them (not all) feel the same as me. Anyone who doesn't can put in their papers and leave.
