I'd get second opinions behind Dave Jones back, that's what I would do. Only release 'big' somes if other sources are in agreement about the player.

Slightly off topic - I know it was ages ago, and not a big sum in comparison to others (though last season we wouldve killed for 100k), but I still want to know why DJ bought Jason Byrne? All the other scouts in the league knew he wasn't good enough, and were tracking other players in Ireland, soem of whom have gone onto be excellent players.

NO I Personally Would Def Not.

In my opinion if I was Vincent Tan and prepared to invest millions of my wealth and loan it to City, I would prefer someone " watching over" Jones with football knowledge to see that the funds provided are spent wisely, especially after witnessing the signings of Fowler, Hudson, Sinclair, Feeney and the other high investment players brought in during his reign.

I think VT is in a difficult position.

If he wants to realise his investment quickly then only promotion will deliver that. If he is convinced that a stronger squad will deliver that then I cant see him not spending a few more quid. However he must be questioning now why a team as good as ours are not delivering, and are more players the answer.

All will be reveiled in January I guess, my gut feeling would be YES and maybe a few changes to go with it.
