A forum for all things Cardiff City

Another disappointing result today , now 6 games without a victory, in truth it's all gone pear shape since the Swansea game.
So what's the matter with the Club we support is it just the Manager or is it more of a whole matter than concerns the Club from top to bottom?
My opinion on matters is as such.
It's firstly my opinion that we have a split board of Directors and Chairman. It's been turbulent times at boardroom level that's for sure. Before and after the departure of the infamous Peter Ridsdale.
Let's take stock of what he we have got,
As Chairman we have TG , who in my opinion is not really the Chairman at all apart from in name, which came about by wanting to get his Son a trial at the Club, he then proceeded to apparently take an interest in the Club, purporting to be a major investor and saviour. This in turn failed to be completely true and himself only placed a small personal investment into the Club, in the vein attempt to attract Vincent Tan on the basis of a shortly promoted Premiership Club that of course due to the Managers inability to ever have a plan B failed. Vincent Tan in my opinion is having another attempt at Premiership football to see a return on his investment so far . It's been made common knowledge that it's simply business and financial gain to Tan, something never guaranteed in Football. Anyway it's my opinion that TG is not the honourable wealthy Chairman that was firstly perceived and is under pressure for Premiership deliverance by Tan as so his returns on investment are quick especially by being led by TG to invest in to Cardiff City Football Club. TG in my opinion was/is a Malaysian version of the once famous Michael Knighton who proposed to take over Manchester United albeit TG had led a Billionaire in Tan to the Cardiff City trough. I have read with interest on this forum that TG borrowed vast sums from City Directors personally to cover staff/players wages and in fact he still owes £500,000 to long standing City Director personally, which should have been repaid quite a while ago, this in my opinion shows the true integrity of TG, a man of promise but of no deliverance clearly shown by these actions. TG as Chairman knows completely nothing about football in general especially British Championship football and he has got himself into a pressurised position of having to deliver quickly the returns for Tan, again we have read on this forum regards the current relationship between TG and Tan, only recently Carl Curtis revealed that Due Diligence had not previously taken place and that the Former Chairman Peter Ridsdale had hoodwinked TG which has cost Tan and that Tan was not amused by this, Ridsdale paid for it, with his severance pay off in the end with a financial form of retribution in my opinion what Ridsdale deserved any way after his fleecing of the Club. Although TG has reportedly whittled down with negotiation the debt to Hammam to a far lower sum of 7 million, Tan now himself wants to deal with this himself , clearly showing TG is not in favour with Tan.
Vincent Tan,
Billionaire Businessman from Malaysia with no actual interest in Football. In my opinion he's only interested in the business side of matters and wants a quick return on his investment and involvement with the football club and the only way that is viable is through a quick promotion to the Premiership.
It's of my opinion that he has no long term business plan for the City. He was led to an opportunity by TG that looked like a bargain investment into a Club about to be promoted to the Premier league and all the financial gain and publicity that goes with it, especially to his Companies in Malaysia .
It's my opinion that if it was the case then that he had a long term plan, he would be investing far more behind the scenes, currently we see the new house of sport to save the Academy status have to be built and paid for by a Director of the Club. We see said Director have to run it as a public business as he owns such venue and has to gain return on investment this way, rather than the Billionaire get involved with the project at all, We see no investment into the Academy and see them living like paupers unlike other Academy systems through out the Country, quite often having to rely on parents contributions and local sponsors as well as supporters constantly being rang by telesales staff asking them to contribute whilst the truth being that only £1 out of every £10 goes to the Academy anyway, the rest going on wages. Regards the pitch itself, we still don't have the grass growing lights to help the pitch through the season, the mere cost to a Billionaire would be £70,000, instead we see the ground being hawked out to Rugby teams in the vein attempt of extra revenue just because the Dragons had a frozen pitch! Also it's reported the Blues want out of their tenancy, a fine chance to take the Stadium to where it belongs, football only and the solely home of Cardiff City, but no for financial reasons the Billionaire will not release them and get shot of them. The only investment going in is towards Premiership Football, ie paying the balance of Bellamys salary directly. All the signs of a quick wished investment return rather than a long term strategy in my opinion.
Paul Guy, Mike Hall, Retail Park, Rugby, say's it all. Apart from they want returns on their investment.
Alan Whiteley, Had the majority of legal payments and work, with the assistance of Peter Ridsdale, quiet of late.
Steve Borley, Actions speak for themselves.
In my opinion we have a split board at the helm , many who don't get on or agree with the Current Chief Executive Gethin Jenkins. A man brought in by PMG from the Rugby Fellowship and agreed with by the Non Football Knowledge Malaysians. Gethin Jenkins is known throughout the Rugby fellowship as in plain terrace talk as someone with a brown Tongue and normally with his head between others buttocks.
All in All summing up with have a Malaysian Chairman who knows nought about football and has even failed to repay his borrowings to other Directors, unpaid " subs" will always lead to resentment. £50 is normally bad enough, let alone Half a million pounds. We have Tan seeking a quick return on his outlay.
So its pressure situation all round at this level.
This will then lead to the relationship of Dave Jones And Gethin Jenkins and my opinion only.
To be continued.

Has I have said before the rollacoster ride is back on.
Reading that VT has lose confidence in TG. Why didnt he take sam's offer up and get him to run the club. Then get out at the first opportunity?
Sat Dec 11, 2010 10:19 pm
Throughout the chain of command, we now come to two persons below Board Level, those of the Chief Executive and the Football Club Manger, Mr Gethin Jenkins and Mr David Jones.
Jenkins role to run the Club on a Commercial basis , Jones to run the Club on the overall football side.
Both under the prowess eye of the Malaysian Tiger.
Jenkins performs this quite well, heads/buttocks and brown tongues are his normal tools applied to the position whilst performing simply what the Tiger roars. A man with no football knowledge again within the hierarchy ranks of Cardiff City that seems quite common and accepted. No question on that front, mainly Malaysians, Egg Chasers and a Lawyer. Jenkins uses his traits and use of the above social climbing skills to the non football knowledge board whilst following instruction .
Dave Jones on the other hand claims in self belief to have a vast wealth of football Knowledge. His recent claims to quote
" Have you ever played the game? I only respect the opinion of those who played at a higher level than I"
" you don't know anything until you have played at a high professional level"
Those 2 opinions in my own opinion show the full arrogance of the Manger Dave Jones. He's clearly incorrect as he clearly played at a higher level, than SIR Alex, and his counterparts at Real Madrid and Arsenal just for starters!
In my opinion and remembering his playing days well, Jones was a clogging Centre Half in a less than decent Everton side often fighting relegation. Football too then was far less technical and saw players of his standard with big hearts but little skill, it's my opinion the players of those days were of the standard of league one/bottom Championship today, Jones today would be lucky to gain a place in the Scunthorpe team. Thats no disrespect to his career at Everton but it's my opinion how the game has moved on since.
It's my opinion Dave Jones plays with that era's tactics and mentality but that's probably saved for another post to debate.
So at the helm in charge of football matters, in my opinion is an arrogant " football man" who now whilst under pressure from the fore mentioned board for financial return/premiership football who lack any football knowledge has the run of the Club in football as general with the fore mentioned non football knowledged Chief Executives head protruding around his Anal rectum as per his normal traits. Here lies one of the problems in my opinion Jones has the run of the Club as long as he delivers Premiership Football this season to ease the ambitions of the Malaysians returns on investment.
Jones, actions and non skills in all sectors ..... to be continued in part three

Interesting post, it could almost have been written by TNT!
Sat Dec 11, 2010 10:42 pm
Dave Jones wants to get his head out for his own arse. Its not like he was world class was it. Trouble is he thinks that he is always right and doesnt learn from mistakes.
Sat Dec 11, 2010 11:43 pm
he just said on the football league show
''we need to put our finger on the problem and get it sorted''
someone get DJ a mirror

David Jones,
An arrogant, stubborn man, most football Managers are, but at most football Clubs, they have people above them with football knowledge, in the main at City there is none above and Jones and his 70's mentality to football and the handling of football matters in my opinion will not get us promoted and has the full run of the Club.
Jones likes to build a team around one person, himself, not just players but back room staff too. It's the Iron Glove of Jones in his eyes, surrounded by his motley crew. The problem being in my opinion his Motley Crew are as inept as Jones himself, Paul Wilkinson does what exactly apart from love himself? Terry Burton, what's the point in him coaching players to be over ruled by Iron Glove anyway? prime example when Burton tries telling Jones he has the wrong tactics for the Swansea game at half time- response " f*cking shut it Terry it's my f*cking team- shut up" Then who else do we have on the bench, oh yes the fitness guru Alex Armstrong, how many Injuries do we get through? how long was Jay on the pitch last week V Preston ? clearly not warmed up properly who's role is that to ensure?
Jones himself has clearly one of the best squads ever at his disposal with the most experience, but tonight's excuse from him was " fear factor" his excuses are normally of poor quality, rather like the style of football his teams normally play, how does a squad of such experience now suffer from " fear factor" ? or is the case that the " fear factor" is that of Jones to the eye of the Malaysian Tiger the reality of" the fear factor"?
70's man Iron Glove Jones and his Motley Crew are totally out of their depth, whilst the unknowledgeable football board allow him the run of the Club , let's face it Jones has had the biggest playing budget for years, Peter Ridsdale always ensures that and he still can't deliver.
Jones, blames the press, the message boards, the fans, the players, when will he actually blame himself? He's not brought a victory in 6 now , of course he now claims he needs all of a sudden 5 new players, whilst he had the best squad ever at the start of the season according to himself.
Some will say, we are second, I'm happy with that, although I can't see us going up under Jones ever, but thankfully I like Championship Football, the long term problem though is does Mr Tan .
In summary in my opinion right throughout the structure of the Club, there are too many individuals with their own agenda, too much arrogance, too much attitude , too much self importance that runs throughout the ranks and that's why in my opinion we will not go up and much of the above stems from Jones and his personality running through the Club as example . In the Boardroom its split , and whilst that's apparent to me, we shall not go up.
Now to the Players - part 4 to be continued.

Awesome thread.

1. Marshall
Dropped by Jones, back in due to Injury.
2. Mcnaughton
Good solid level headed lad.
3.Lee Naylor
Hopeless, slow and can't pass, recently signed by Jones.
4.Rae
Washed up.
5.Hudson
Can't pass and turns slower than the QE2 , Jones as a Centre Half should know better than to sign this player and place him on an incredible 14k per week.
6.Gyepes
More calamity than David James.
7.Whittingham
Quality, more desire would see him in the Premiership. Had his issues with Jones.
8.Chopra
clearly out of favour with Jones.
9.Bothroyd
Last season Jones ranted he would never play for the Club again, this season he called for his England Cap.
10. Mcphail
An old Jones favourite.
11.Burke
Quality winger in the eyes of most, stupidly left out against the turning point of the rot v the Jacks.
14 Quinn
Hopeless
17 Keogh
Jury out
18.Taiwo
Should that be Tai who?
19.Koumas
Brought back by Jones for what?
20 Seyi
good loan by Jones
21.Drinkwater
Another Jones loan, not bad.
22. Heaton
Jones number one
23.Blake
Solid lad
24.Comminges
Jones gamble- never paid off
26 . John
Who?
27.Matthews
Killed by Jones, slaughtered the young lad in public for the final nail in the confidence coffin.
28. Wildig
Light weight, will go out on loan never to return.
29.Meades,
Out on loan and never will return
30.Santiago
stop gap.
31. Riggot
Does he play golf?
39 Bellamy
Not making the difference.
49 Jarvis
Kids dont get chances under Jones, goodbye Nat.
So the Manager Jones who will not respect anyones opinion unless you have played higher level than himself, calls that the best squad ever. Though that former Defender Jones can't see the Defence is woeful. Oh well what do we know? let's leave it to you Jones , you signed them all, over to you! 1 win out of 7 after the hype of the start of the season has worn off and Managers of other sides have worked you out, I presume they must have always played at a higher level than you, to outwit you!
Sun Dec 12, 2010 12:51 am
That's right MIMO, as I said here Earlier it's all on Jones now and he's choking.

If he only respects the opinion of those that have played at a higher level than him, why doesn't he have any respect for David Giles' opinion?
Gilo played for a side that toyed with the top of the highest division, DJ never did.
Gilo played regular International football, DJ never played any International football.
(**** DAVE JONES **** If you are reading this then that last statement would cause you to shrug and give some comment about you being English and Gilo being Welsh. TRUE BUT. The Wales team that Gilo played for SMASHED England, I think 4-1, if I remember rightly. Also the centre half for Wales at the time was I believe Mike Enlgand, who was a far better CH than you could ever wish to have been. Truth is even if you were Welsh you still wouldn't have played International football at that time).
The only mystery here is why on earth Gilo takes all the stick about DJ playing at those high levels. Why hasn't Gilo ever once spoken out and said "well actually, my record is way better than his. True that Gilo has never managed at a level to speak of but his mate has. When DJ belittles Toshack and tries to pick on his managerial experience. Toshack took a shit side from the bottom to the top division without spending. He then went on to manage little clubs like Real Madrid.
Point is Dave Jones should do a bit of research before having a pop at past Welsh players otherwise he just makes himself look a bit daft.
Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:22 am
Really cant be arsed to read all of that
But i just think your having a bad run really; you have to think today was a big away day for the players and fans travelling as far as they could in the league
Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:32 am
One of the saddest and ill-informed (if there is ANY factual content in there) posts I have EVER witnessed on this site....
Obviously a person VERY narked at recent on-field events trying to vent their spleen....
It would have been easier to read 'War and Peace'
How on earth you came to most of those conclusions absolutely baffles and disappoints me....and what makes it worse is that SOME of our more fickle supporters (as already shown in responses to this diatribe) will actually believe it as FACT!!
THREE sections to say what you could have said in one paragraph....that YOU think City are shite, the manager is shite (or as you so eloquently put it, a bullying, dictatorial gob-shite clogger with no love for this club), the players are shite and, more importantly, the two people who (regardless of what YOU may think) have pulled this club from the jaws of Hades and turned it into an almost viable business, whilst (bit by bit) sorting out the debts to all invloved 100% rather tha paying 2p in the £ as many others (including those twice-bust tw*ts from down the road) have done in recent times....
They (the new investors) have overseen large outlays on wages for pretty good 'loan' players this season and are (for the first time in several years) prepared to bring in NEW players during the January transfer window....
I don't know what your agenda is here....but it is not one borne of a love of Cardiff City Football Club....whatever you say. It is, in my humble opinion, just another rant by someone whose frustrations with ither things in life are channelled (like so many others) at an easy target....in this case a slightly stumbling football team and its management at all levels....
There is, of course, always the opportunity for YOU to buy the club YOURSELF and run it in a more pragmatic and football-orientated way than its current owners. YOU could then, of course, choose your own manager (a bit like on FIFA 11) and may even decide to run affairs both on and off the pitch yourself....
But then again, of course, YOU couldn't could YOU?!?! Don't have the money, the real knowledge, or the clout to do so, do YOU??
Luckily for us (remember we were about to go into administration when these guys got involved) TG and VT came in and saved us....and, as far as me and the rest of us humble (and apparently ignorant) supporters are concerned, we haven't exactly seen a deteriation of the club or reduction in the standard of playing staff since, have we??
That the Bluebirds are not performing to their potential at this moment in time is disappointing, to say the least....but none of you moaning minnies were sticking your head above the parapet BEFORE DJ won Manager of the Month and we went on the traditional post-award slide, did you??
So, to end this post somewhat earlier than you, but with more sense in its content, I believe the only things wrong with Cardiff City Football Club at this time is a temporary loss of form from the players and a desire by some loud people to destabilise the club by continually inventing (or adding to) stories or rumours because they have negative agendas. Why?? I'm not totally sure....we usually have the MediaWales boys to do that!!
Sun Dec 12, 2010 4:47 am
Superb reply, i really despair sometimes how some 'supporters' try to run the club down and paint everything in a negative light. Without TG and VT in charge of our club at present we might not have a club and whatever you may think VT's motives are i cannot see how you can question the fact that he has put a lot of money into our club and i thank him for that.
Keep the faith

Great thread..
And it's awful to see a civil war breaking out among City fans.
I think both siades have articulated their argument brilliantly...MIMO and Sven...superb stuff.
MIMO...I would agree that the club is now pretty much run by DJ...he has a power and autonomy almost without precedent..
I'm not saying that's a bad thing...indeed, it's seen Fergie alright? But there's no doubt that it ups the pressure on you IF things don't go right.
Sven...not sure it's fair to base your argument on saying to someone..YOU buy the club. I'm pretty sure if anyone on here won the Euromillions they's love to step in and help...when you're a fan of any kind your entitled to your say...and blind obedience cant sometimes make us unable to see when there's something seriously wrong.
Fact is...it IS ridiculous that we are here debating if DJ is the man to take us up when we are STILL second...shows how far we've come doesn't it?
And there has been a touch of the Emporer's New Clothes that we've all ignored..
Donny for instance slaughtered us for most the first half..Scunny came back..we were poor against Hull home and Swansea was as baffling as it was infuriating...truth is (other than Leeds) we just aint all that...especially at the back.
What is absolutely certain is that Cardiff has no history among the fans of hammering managers. DJ has been there almost half a decade and done what he can to un-endear himself to fans...'We have no history' is without doubt the most disrespectful thing a City manager has ever said..INFACT our fuckin problem for years was were weighed down with this b*stard history..Cup Winners, Real Madrid, John Charles...a Swindon we aint (no disrespect Swindon)...
I was angry yesterday...but I take everyone's views on board and suggest we do this...
Let's see how we get on Christmas, New Year, see what happens in the TW and while this is happening do what we do best and get behind the team 100%. Fair play to the Jacks, they look decent, QPR were nothing great to me and everyone else about the same level...there are no Geordies or Baggies this season...thank GOD!!
So I think we should all pull together for the next few games...Keep the faith.....and remember we are still second in the Championship just coming into Christmas...this Summer I think it's fair we all would have taken that.

Some very interesting notions in your post, some which i entirely agree with. The biggest problem in the "camp" is, as you mentioned, & imho, that there are too many "chief's" & too many big ego's who like the sound of there own voice. With regards to DJ's claim that the message is not getting through or people not listening, im not surprised. Just who is pulling who's strings?
DJ said in a news article yesterday that "Cardiff City will get to the Premiership when the club is ready"???
The way thing look at the moment the club is still way off that mark.

Sven dont know if you noticed this bloke has sais that that this is his opinion aint that what message boards are for he never said that it was fact, thats a fact. but there are some facts in there anyway

Point is Dave Jones should do a bit of research before having a pop at past Welsh players otherwise he just makes himself look a bit daft.
if you gave toshack the right players he would still be a class manager most base him on his welsh performances lets be honest he hardly had top players did he the truth being welsh natinoal players are pretty average, toshack is sutited to european football.

Without TG and VT in charge of our club at present we might not have a club and whatever you may think VT's motives are i cannot see how you can question the fact that he has put a lot of money into our club and i thank him for that.
Keep the faith
im pretty sure you probably thanked the riddler at the start of his campaign too steveo1958!!! rose tinted specs and will hound down anyone with a different opinion to yours, this bloke states its his opinion why not challenge some of his points than just slag him off.

Some cracking posts from both sides of the fence.
Regarding VT and TG I am grateful they came in when they did. There is no getting away from that one. However and like most situations like this there is always a hidden agenda. What that is none of us are going to know and we can only guess by what we are allowed to see. My guess is its looking good by what I am seeing from them. Since their arrival I see the likes of Bellamy and co joining our club. What I dont see are winding up orders coming our way. So its looking good at what I see and dont see as far as their involvment goes. Yet there is always that fear factor due to the nature of the hidden agenda.
My main interest is what goes on the pitch. Now I have made this clear well before Bellamy and co came along that I was uncomfortable about it all, especially with DJ as manager. I used the argument that even Ridsdale gave him money to spend last season, DJ finally got Chopra back and brought in Hudson, yet he still failed to deliver. The counter arguments were that we were up against premier teams like Newcastle and WBA and we still had a small squad. Fair arguments I thought but they domt apply to this season.
We have the best squad in the league without doubt. Our fringe players got us to the play off final in a more difficult league. Yes the league this season is alot easier than previous seasons. Yet we are making difficult work off it even though we have a superior squad to any of the other seasons we have been in this league and lets be truthful our squad knocks the spots of other squads this division. So the counter arguments are not there are they?
So we now have a strong boardroom, a billionaire instead of a scrounger. We have a strong squad compared to others. We have the same management though. Simple to work out really.
Yes we are 2nd, the last standing comeback from my adveraries. Take this into account though, we are 3 pints off dropping to 9th. Thats one game. According to our manager we are having to go back to basics. Go back to basics when other teams are gelling together which we should be doing this time of year. Are we feeling confident? I'm not.
Whats the matter with the City. Simple to work out really is it not?

Have we the best squad in the league? I have never been convinced of that. As for the best team?? A team is only as strong as its weakest link, & we have links that snapped a long time ago.
