How can Newcastle still call themselves a "Big Club " when they are going for a second rate manager in Pardew ? All they have is a big fan base, theve won f**k all since the late 40,s, Big Club my arse

Why sack Hughton and put Pardew in charge? Bizarre. Unless they thought they had O'Neill in the bag and he turned them down so they are now after whoever they can get

i read in some article yesterday..... one of the reasons for his sacking was that tv rights get you around 500k a gamne, and he wanted as big name to draw the sky cameras to st james park. pardew would be an odd choice.

It's league position that gets you more TV games, though. If they finish 17th this season, why are they going to be on TV more with Pardew in charge than Hughton? Odd
