Best part of John is that he wasn't a saint.... he was human.
Makes me mad as shit that he was taken to early.

i remember the day well.
i was 8 years old and it came on the news, i said "who's john lennon" and my older brother lamped the f**k out of me. (he was into lennon's music big time)

The man was an absolute musical legend and I loved his music. It was tragic that such a peaceful, gentle man was taken from us by a nutter.

Lennon was the real genius behind the Beatles success. I have always thought Paul McCartney was overrated and their respective solo careers certainly backs that up IMO.
On a related matter I loved Liam Gallagher's idea of naming his son 'Lennon' in honour of the great man. Indeed I followed his example naming my son 'Spock' as I'm a big Star Trek fan

My boy is also called Lennon.
