Lifting the team seems a thing of the past.

Sun Dec 05, 2010 11:30 am

Having left the ground yesterday a few comments were made amongst the lads I watch the game with. Firstly despite the fact were 2nd in the Championship and the club have spent millions arguably was the quality on display or the football any better than what we witnessed under Eddie May in the early nineties. That game yesterday despite our golden squad was no better for quality. Secondly the atmosphere , we all know this is a debate raging on but sadly for me the days of getting behind the club are firmly finished. That sort of game where we would all bounce around en mass doing the blue army, the barmy army to try and generate the players to push on has gone. Its more like lets stand around now look around our nice stadium and if we get a corner or shot theres sporadic chanting. Feck me I miss Ninian Park,

There was a good bit of ' Barmy army' which seemed to go right around the ground about 15 mins form the end, it seemed to lift the side a bit. I agree though, we need to do our bit to get behind the side when things arent going well.

I used to love it down Ninian when ooo ahhh barny army went on for 10 15 20 minutes quite intimidating if you were an away supporter, kind of like a tribal chant :ayatollah:

Some believe that the atmosphere is no worse than Ninian, how I will never know. Seems the old chanting days are over mainly because you can't hear the away fans and can't get the banter going, plus the football is not good. I will live in the past and will always miss Ninian.

Sadly people would rather now have a go at the players than support the during games and its not just at City, its at most football ground, its all part of the "boo'ing" culture IMO. Sad really but thats how it is now.

100% agree...
we have a go at the players and manager..yet in my opininon the fans are not doing their bit...
to focussed on slagging off new stadium and lack of atmosphere-at end of the day its down to us fans to make the atmosphere...

we're not famous anymore....comes to mind
