A forum for all things Cardiff City

I'm just watching the football league show with Scott Sinclair being one of the topics.
What stands out from what he said is that when your on loan you live out of hotels and don't really get your feet on the ground.
At least with Brendan Rogers hre's got a relationship from Chelsea but when I look at our lot apart from CB, they are all playing away from home.
They won't uproots for a temporary arrangement like aloan deal and are in limbo.
Personally I think this is being reflected on the field. I don't blame the players but if they all had 3 year contracts on the field they can make arrangements off the field and make Cardiff their home.
We are where we are because of the financial situation and we have a great squad (full of loans) but I think we lack the team mentality, and with the stupid money getting paid do they really really care.
I look at Jay and think he's Cardiff throuh and through now, now he's settled here.
Its up to the board now and the money men to build a team, a signed/pertmanent team if they want success you can't just buy it, or loan it.
Looling forward to tomorrow and a big win, hopefully a TEAM building game too.
Rant over and out!

Sorry the thread should have said 'PERMANENT'.
Before the general picks me up on a spelling error!

I think your spot on..loan players are not the answer

Loan players are not the long term answer, but they are short term soulutions to getting us into the Premiership. Stoke did the same three years ago.

Didnt blackpool go up on loan signings...?
People are off there head, we were close to being shut down and owe millions upon millions yet think we should be spending transfer fees? get real.
People moan about Riggott and while no one doubts his quality they doubt his fitness......dont you think DJ thought about that? there is a reason he is on a free at the end of the day. Quality CB's are VERY hard to come by and impossible on a free and thats why we had to take a risk.

completely agree loan signings arent the answer would rather prefer permanent signings, but loans and free transfers were our only option at the beginning of the season.

Riggot i totally disagree on.
What would have been the biggest gamble?
Giving a young chopsy passionate talented Centre-Half another chance
Or sign an injury-stricken player who only played seven times last season
I think the fact that Riggott hasnt kicked a ball for us yet answers that.
Seeing as its our defence that caused most problems for us, Jones has made
a major cock-up in a key position. Lets face it, we got to the play-offs last
season on the back of some superb performances from Blake and Gerrard.
But Jones just could not wait to put Hudson back in. f*cking idiot he is

Hudson has done ok for us this season.
People forget Gerrard isn't that good. But hey, he's one of those fist pumping types people always overrate.
Burton anyone? When overweight Gerrard decides to get cute by chesting the ball down... only to not notice the forward in front of him who then easily skips past him to score? Or the numerous other mistakes made that game?

Personally I though Gerrard and Blake as a partnership got lucky. Countless let offs against the Jacks, Reading, Forest, but all people seem to see are the stats. A big centre forward would have eaten them for breakfast. Gerrard also had the worst centre half performanc eof the lot all season against Bogdanovic and played in the humiliations at Newcastle and Preston.
Gerrard seems to think hes doing OK at Hull, but they are still conceding more than us - so does that tell you what he considers as acceptable ? Its totally unprofessional for a Championship player to get in the state he was in and personally I would have shipped him out just like Jones did. I also thought his comments in the summer in the Echo were pathetic. Whinging about not playing in the final. He needs to grow up and remember where he's come from, he's Anthony Gerrard not Steve feckin Gerrard,- and maybe a spell at Hull will sort it
Hudson is the captain and the best centre half the club has, no suprise he got back in. Dont forget on his return he was MOM at Leicester and I've yet to see someone actually give a meaningful reason why he got blamed for either of the other 2 games.
He's proved his worth further this season by being our most consistent defender by some way and one of only 2 ever-presents in the side who lets not forget are 2nd and gaining 2 points per game.
