Read the book Foul by Andrew Jennings (I think) heavy going as he's a Guardian or Daily Mail journalist so writes in riddles most of the time but he does expose Blatter and his merry men for the corrupt bastards they are. He has a few chapters on a certain Jack Warner of the West Indies who has recently been implicated in some shanigans.The book was published in 2006.

As I said it is very heavy going, I've had for ages yet still haven't finished it.

The bid itself, cost £15 million, and thats a fact - however the cost to the UK economy ( which would include Wales due to its proximity to Bristol) would be around £500 million.

If the bid itself was £436 million , there would be no point staging the World Cup in England.

when I read that i thought f..k me the transfer window hasn't even opened

i dont believe that they only spent £15 million on the bid, with the cost of hotels, security, travel, the lenght of time they have been travelling around promoting it etc
