Very clever of Mr Jones, Four or five new players would probably seal promotion, but if no one comes in January & we fail, it will be a case of "i told you so" from Mr J. Mind you, he could get his wish, & we still fail,,,,,,,,lifes sometimes a bitch!

Completely agree - we shouldn't be hoping. That being said, we have a shocking defence (SuperKev aside, and maybe Hudson if you've the right player beside him). The talk a few weeks back was of him getting a cb, cm and cf - does this mean that he shares the same concerns as us about Naylor, and so has added a full back and another player to the list (I hope so).

but why is it, everytime we are linked with a player hes a striker or midfielder.

DJ is far to stubborn to say he needs a CB etc because he is having an affair with hudson, and he has brought in naylor and riggott.
i think his arragonce and pride would get in the way, as he wouldnt want to be seen as making poor signings pre january!

yes we need four or five players in january any old Joe off the street can see that but would you trust Dave Jones with your money to shore up our defence, I wouldn't, will the Malaysians trust him with their money?. Who signed Hudson,Naylor and Gyepes? whose to say he may sign another 4 or 5 duds? No replace him with a new manager. I would be busting a gut to get Paul Lambert (much better manager) in to replace Dave Jones.

But as Carl was saying in his last update, the amount Jones gets will be dependent on our league position at the time - in other words, he probably doesn't know as yet. He'll have a list of potential targets and go from there when he knows how much is available.

DJ is right here because it doesn't matter what club you are or whatever manager is involved history says the club that spends a few bob, either buying players or PL loan players are more likely to get promoted. Look at Newcastle last year they basically had a PL squad but still signed Best, Williamson and Routledge in January.

We need to sign more players I'm not sure if 5 is to many however I just hope DJ makes the right decisions and that any player we sign is better than the ones we have already and not just another body.

I didn't want to start a new topic....

I don't trust Dave Jones to make five signings. My reasoning is, he seems to struggle enough with negotiating contracts of OUR players - what hope has he with five from other clubs, in such a short space of time. If he has as much hands on responsibility as we all think/know, then this has got to be a problem. Could this even have been a problem at the start of the season with regards Keogh/Koumas - did he rush signings for whatever reason?
