Petrol in a Diesel!

Fri Jan 08, 2010 11:11 pm

My sister just put £10 worth of unleaded in a peugeot 206 HDi (2.0 Diesel)
There was already around £10 worth of Diesel in there.

After previously making the same mistake over a year ago with a different 206, (her boyfriend put £30 worth in from EMPTY!) the Engine had to have 2 new injectors and a new diesel pump, but she managed to sell the car.

This time she drove the car and it seems to be driving ok, she called me up from Bristol as she works for Easy Jet, and i advised her to just go FILL the car back up with Diesel to the brim. (another £25 Diesel gone in - tank is now Full) So far so good.... no problems.....

But she's crapping herself now as she leant the car from my old man which he reluctantly allowed her to use!

Can a small amount of Petrol do more harm than good - seeing as the car hasnt gone nuts yet or stalled or spluttered?

You may get lucky with that , but if it was other way around you'd be doomed ..... tell her to return car and deny all knowledge
