We've had a great start to the season. the Bellamy factor was amazing and it
lifted our players, they were playing to their full potentials and we were looking
good.
But even then, when the team were on a high... our defence looked suspect!
To me this proves that the defence JUST IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH (Kev the exception!)
Now we are in turmoil, confidence all over the pitch is at a low, but particularly at
the back where we look vulnerable whenever the ball is anywhere near our box.
Is DJ really the great motivator? Or did Jay Bothroyd realise he was drinking at the last
chance saloon. I tend to think the latter. Cos Jones certainly dont seem to be motivating
anyone else.
Jones biggest mistake in my opinion was to stick with Mark Hudson. YES, he is better than
he was last season. But opposing players actually hoof high balls into our box, who on earth
does that when they know there is a big domineering defender there. If Hudson got listed
tomorrow... how many Championship clubs would come in for him, seriously?... same with
Gypes, and Naylor looks a piece of piss to get past.
WHAT can David Jones do to turn this around.
Does he have the strength of character to rally the troops and get them fighting FOR HIM
Does he have the tactical nouce to switch/change/adapt his teams when things arent going
well.
To both those questions my answer would be NO!
I think he always looks to apportion blame... which appears to have rubbed off on his players
(which it would!)
And I think he is either too blinkered, or not astute enough to see past a 4-4-2, and when he
does try other systems he does it half-heartedly, which again will rub off on the players.
Sorry for the rant. YES we gave QPR a 'good game' today, and should have had a pen at the end.
But we have an abundance of very skilled players who are always capable of doing things right.
We do NOT have a TEAM that will step in the trenches for each other, and thats down to the
manager. The buck doesnt stop with the Referee, Adam matthews or Gabor Gypes... it stops
with Dave Jones. But he's having none of it!
Worried!!

TA I have been saying this for weeks now and have been called a moaning tw*t. Those that have called me that dont seem to appear anymore. What is the worse thing of all this is that sadly it look realistic what I have been saying. I am getting no enjoyment at possible being right.
I really can see DJ getting the sack before christmas before it is too late.

Baked you have been saying we havent been playing well but getting results, today we played well IMO and got nothing....I know which I prefer and I still have every faith in this squad and our manager to take us up.

We have got the results because we have played crap teams. Lately we have played the more difficult teams like Swansea, Forest and QPR and look at our return there. The only game we have won this month we nearly gave away, Scunny.

Thats November for us, past seasons we have beaten the top teams and lost against the lesser teams.
I wasnt impressed by QPR, felt they were very lucky today. I very confident we will may top 2 and I really wouldnt be surprised to see QPR drop to the play/offs

tell you who did impress me. the guy who scored there 2nd goal. not even going to embarass myself by trying to spell it. he ran the show for them offensivly.

yeah he is a good player, he is not DJ's type of player so even if we did have funds I dont think we would have signed him but great goal even tho Naylor and Hudson should have stopped him.

Both Naylor and Hudson were cruelly exposed. Naylot was in such a panic to get the
tackle in that he missed it completely. hes a defender, and the speed he went into
Taraabt should have seen the Moroccan go ten feet up in the air, but he missed ball
and man.. Hudsons body shape was abysmal. Taraabt was well in the box by the time
Hudson got to him, and practically the ONLY thing Hudson could really do was try and
force Taraabt wide. But no, he stood square on to him and got caught flat-footed, not
taking anything away from Taraabt, he is a f*cking handful. But Hudson practically
made his mind up for him

Think you'll find that Naylor did get the ball, but it broke kindly for Taarabt and if I'm honest, I could still get past Hudson at my tender age!
Sun Nov 28, 2010 12:07 pm
U say "who actually hoofs the ball into the opposition box when there are big defenders there. Ill tell u who.............us!!!

I disagree. The speed he hit Taraabt should have seen him go through the
feller like a knife through butter, and the ball end up in the stand. He
totally misjudged it and in the end barely made contact with the ball. I
played left back for years and if I hit someone at that speed he would definitely
not have won the ball, or got up.... ever

I heard the contact with the ball from my position in the Upper Stand!
You have changed your opinion though, as you now say that he barely made contact, when in your other posts, you say that he missed man and ball and also that he missed it completely!

Right well ok

1-0 to you in the nit-picking stakes
My point is/was and will be tomorrow... Naylor panicked, and was in such an almighty
rush to get across to Taraabt that he took his eye off the ball and ended up putting a
piss poor attempt of a tackle in on a little skilful midfielder when Taraabt should have
ended up in row X (upper stand

)... it was NOT a 50-50 challenge. Naylor was coming
in at a rate of knots. Defenders ball all day long. Except when its one of our defenders!!
Sun Nov 28, 2010 12:59 pm
I have to say, I agree with all that Taffy has said.
Sun Nov 28, 2010 1:11 pm
Can't see how it's nitpicking, as he's either made contact, or missed it completely!
He clearly made contact and at the speed he went into the tackle, I'm surprised that the ball and Taarabt didn't end up in the stand!
I also can't see that he panicked, as he clearly made his mind up early and threw himself full blooded into the challenge!
I thought he was unlucky and although he's not played consistently well for us this season, I believe that he's getting better and put in a decent shift for us yesterday!

He clearly did not put a full blooded challenge in, clearly because he almost missed the
ball completely. It was woeful

I agree he should have won the ball but by this time he was trying to do two peoples jobs as he had Koumas in front of him. In my opinion Naylor played well especially considering ho strong QPR are down the right. Naylor only started to struggle when Drinks went off and Koumas come on.... mind you the highlights on the football league show dont do Naylor any justice.

I never watched the highlights. I was NOT all that impressed with QPR
and am convinced that by bottling it in the first place and not having
the confidence to play Bellamy wide he just sent out a message to QPR
that said "we're scared - take us on"... As for Koumas, well you'll get
no arguments here. He might as well have played with ten men!!
Sun Nov 28, 2010 3:02 pm
We will have to agree to disgaree then, I thought the the team that started was spot on and thought we were the better team.
I also wasnt overally impressed with QPR and dont think they will win the league.
Sun Nov 28, 2010 3:04 pm
I wonder if QPR fans were saying this when they had all them draws?
Sun Nov 28, 2010 3:31 pm
Its just a simple case of "the same old same old" from a typical DJ's team. The parallels with previous seasons is dazzaling. Results wise you could almost predict results & form on a month to month basis. Will there be tears [of sadness] next May?
