The Swedish guy did wonders with them qualifying, I thinkhe will get players doing a job and knowing their roles, hopefully we will become much harder to breakdown

If he wasnt at Argentina id like Diego Maradonna to come and manage Wales but i am a realist and that is just a wish. To be honest I wasnt a fan of Toshack at all. I dont think Rush would be a good choice imo but some ppl said that about Mark Hughes and imo Mark Hughes is by far the best manager Wales has ever had in my era even tho Terry Yorath had the best crop of players at that time i still think nobody would beat Hughes. However Id like to see a big name in the welsh Hotseat its about time WALES INVESTED MORE MONEY INTO FOOTBALL THAN IT DOES RUGBY !!!!

I am so glad Rush has dropped out ...................... my 3 choices would now be Sanchez , O'Neil or Hartson !

Give it to Hartson alongside a experienced assistant and coach ........

Gary Speed or indeed player / coach Craig Bellamy ?

I'd say Hartson or Lagerback. I think Sanchez is a good manager but just don't like him for some reason. I think having a manager from a country which aligns itself with England would be hard to swallow. Shallow reasons I know, but it's true.

??????
N.Ireland don't align themselves with England. They align themselves with BRITAIN. And given their history, you can understand why their followers count themselves as British.
And despite classing themselves as British, they still have a healthy banter/dislike of England for the same reason Wales and Scotland do. Perhaps you shoumd watch the N.Ireland game when they beat them a few years back when we were all in the same qualifying grouo. The fans certainly don't align themselves with England!

Maradona?
You a coke dealer or something?
You must be on some seriously strong drugs...
Maradona's reign for the Argies was a joke. Capped over 100 players in 20 plus games. Came up with baffling formations - once a 3-3-1-3... turned one of the big two nations in South America into a nation that just about scraped into the World Cup...
He's probably the only guy who would make us worse.

Hmm.
Appoint either the Welsh guy with zero management experience, who was begging Barry for a job ( which he didn't get... ) whose history of playing included a vastly ignorance of the fact he was shot at international level, domestic level went through the motions to pick up money to cover his expensive divorce and gambling habit...
Or the guy who has managed internationally, done wonders with a lesser squad.
Tough choice that one...

It's not that cut and dry in my eyes. Ideally, I'd prefer Lagerback out of the two. However, it's happened before where managers who have done well in one role haven't done well in a similar role elsewhere. As for Hartson, Toshack had loads of experience but Hughes had none... who would you have preferred?
I like what Hartson has had to say when he's been making analysis of games. I'm not on the FAW panel but from what I know, which is the only judgment I can make, Hartson doesn't appear to be a bad choice.
