Don't get it myself. Not that long ago he was catching the coach from Malpas to watch us away. He's more a City fan than Earnie is.

Also one of only 2 City players to bother with us fans who went to watch the game in Lisbon (the other was Roger Johnson). Seemed a nic level headed kid to me.

What has he done - is it due to that incident in front of 117 of the ninian last season ?

Nasty piece of work is Gunter. Slagged Cardiff off when he left. His play acting, immaturity and dangerous tackles last season has led to him being a bit of a hate figure.

Also he's a Forest player now so doing the best for them. We cant expect any favours surely. I thought he was pretty shocked both last year and today by the abuse, so maybe it worked, although i thought he had good games both times. Better than he did for Wales recently !

I rememebr Dai Thomas getting grief whilst playing for the Jacks and he was more of a City fan than half those slagging him off at the time. Used to wear City gear to training with the Jacks his old man told me.

Forest was one of three games i missed last season and i didnt know why they were booing him

Yes and he used it to waste as much time as possible with them 1-up whilst lots of mugs cheered him and asked him to ayatollah.

I think its because as en EX Cardiff player in 2 games he has Now made a Big thing of looking at City Fans while going over to the Forest Fans, before the game,when they score and at the end, Earnie doesnt.

I guess he needs to do it wheras Earnie has done so much it doesnt really matter to him whether the Forest fans like him or not.

A few of the blokes next to me seem to think he was a rent boy

when he left to go to spurs he had the chance to come back on a loan & rejected us, basically slagging us off by saying he wanted to go on loan to a "bigger club"

then all the shenanigans with trying to stare the Ninian up all the time went on, time wasting nd just generally being a bit of a plonker when we play them!

I had a feeling it was something about when he got sold to Spurs but couldn't remember.

Crap game today...I was reminded of the performances when we used to struggle at home in the 2nd division relegation years - and there were a lot of them in succession.

Nathan, I agree its a culmination of all those

If I remember correctly, last season he fouled Whitts in front of the Ninian.

A few mins later, Whitts caught him late and he got up off the floor and reacted which caused a bit of handbags with all the players. In the meantime, he'd wandered off away from the fracas and got a bit of stick from the Ninian stand.

That game had a bit of an edge from that point on and they ended up equalising in the last minute.

Chris Gunter (change the G for a C as the saying goes) had a few pops at his old club after signing for mighty Tottenham Hotspurs and further compounded this with his antics (as someone stated elsewhere on this thread) in front of 117 before, during and after the game at CCS last season.

Until then, I had a certain respect for Gunter as a person and as a player but it all changed that day....

To say Gunter was disingenuous to his former club and the fans he once stood alongside is an understatement....and although a little quieter today, there was a little stand-off before and during the early parts of the game. That is, being as polite as I can be, just a little discourteous to his so-called home club....

No-one 'blames' him for signing for Forest....or for working for THEIR cause. After all, Spurs rejected him (not good to be a reject from the poorest defence in the Premiership) and Forest now pay his substantial wages. BUT, there are lines that should not be crossed....and as an ex-Cardiff player he went way too far and seemed to enjoy the notoriety. Again, that's fine....but City fans aren't backward at coming forward and he opened himself up for the flak that he took 100%

In fact, when his name was read out last season, he got a clap. But his attitude to the fans that once thought he was not given a fair chance under DJ was unbelievable. He came through our ranks but made smirks and childish gestures throughout the game.

If he has no respect for people who used to sing his name, then we have no respect for him.
