I live in Caldicot right on the boarder, majority welsh probably 90%. However 5 mins down the road in Chepstow still in Wales is completely ENGLISH  :? you go there and its full of english flags and in the summer was the worst, every house drapped with a st georges cross. In caldicot saw hardly any :) :ayatollah:

Absolute tosh 1927-bluebird. I moved to Chepstow a few years ago, and it is not totally english as you say, yeah it's on the border, but nearly everyone from late 30's onward has a very strong welsh accent and the older generation all have a very strong valleys accent due to a lot of the miners from the valleys moving to chepstow when LLanwern steelworks opened. Not every house had an england flag on it for the world cup either, i saw about 5 houses with huge flags so where this notion of yours comes from i have no idea. I think this may boil down to the slight rivalry that caldicot and chepstow have. I'm from the valleys originally and yes there is a large english contingent in chepstow, but so has caldicot, quite a lot of the six finger crew from the forest live there infact!!. We also have a fine following of bluebirds fans here also, so please dont say Chepstow is mainly english.

ive got to agree with 1927 bluebird.. living in portskewett I vist chepstow alot.. and through out the summer was the worst with a high percentage of cars with st. george's flags out of the window . Saying that I was in tesco's the other day and did see two city fans with their kits on.
