ok lads, lets not get too much hatred for sam

some of us remember days pre sam !!!!! , and if he hadn't have come to cardiff city we'd either be fighting to stay away from the confrence or even worse, yes he went mad with money but most of us would, things were happening, they were moving fast, players coming in and the hype was fantastic, we all got carried away

the preimership, players like bellamy were a million lightyears away from cardiff city f.c, it was a fantasy, thats why we used to watch match of the day and dream  but its more and more becoming a reality. People slag sam off now, but look at the bigger picture

It'd be nice if langstone was sorted. As for sam coming back, no thanks - can't offer us anything now, thanks for the mad few years we had but we're a bigger deal now.

We were very fortunate to stay in business after the Riddler, the Malaysians showed faith in us and have not let us down so why the hell are we discussing this? If the Malaysian saviours decide they want Sam on board then fine, if not then fine also I trust them.
If Sam wants the club then make an offer to the current board, otherwise lets leave it in the hands of our present directors to do the best for our club.

Bring back Sam. Without him we wouldnt even be on the verge of promotion to Premier. One of the greatest chairmen we've ever had, don't understand the hate.

Oh here we go! What have you started Fish - yet ANOTHER Sam Hammam thread!

Anyway, Ben. I see your point, and we can see your obviously a Sam fan, but I think we should look at the Bigger Picture come December when they have to pay him £10m quid? If he bleeds blue - why doesnt her just drop the debt for something of less value in return ? like a permanent seat in the VIP, and a deferred replayment plan that puts money back into the club to go towards players? then he can watch a team he so loves, and help to build it too without getting involved again?

This is what we ALL know:

1) Cardiff City FC was dying on its arse, then Sam Hammam came here and has been
the inspiration behind the new beginning, successive promotions, big signings, a
new ground. It his HIS legacy that sees us on the brink of Premiership football and
playing in front of 20000+ every home game. We all now know that Sam put in
millions of his own money too. For that, every City supporter should be eternally
grateful.

2) Now the bad bit. When it all went tits up, we suddenly find that the bulk of the
money Cardiff City owed out was to a company called Langstone. Then Sam gets
ousted and it transpires that Sam Hammam IS Langstone, and that he/they were
willing to see the Club go bust as long as they got their money.

3) Then, Langstone (Sam?) agree to settle for half the money. Was that because of
Sam's love for Cardiff City, or because he knew that unless he gave plenty of slack,
Cardiff would go bust anyway and he'd get nada!! NOW, again... it appears that
Langstone (Sam) are being reasonable about the debt and are happy to sit down
with the Malaysians and try to sort it out, after all the court rulings etc, Langstone
do not need to do this. They can sit tight and wait for the money.

For me, point 2 outweighed point 1. So Sam could just f**k off as far as I was
concerned

... Then came point 3!!

So for me, I'm willing to give him another chance. On one condition...

TRANSPARENCY!!

If he comes back he should reveal all. All the dirt, all the double-dealing
and let the FANS decide.

Ive heard plenty on here of how Sam put his own money in, how he loves the
club, how Cardiff City is in his heart. But nobody has ever given us lot a real
explanation as to why he went for the Clubs throat in the first place. Losing
money and f*cking up we can all forgive, But why did he APPEAR to want to see
the club sink???

i think it was because pistol pete shafted him, and he wanted to get even, now the decent people (malyasians) have come in, he trusts them and is willing to sort out through the debut

Thats partly my thoughts too. I hope thats it. But either way, by doing
it, he was hurting US a lot more than Riddles. It still doesnt explain how
why and where the Langstone debt came from in the first place though.
As far as simple supporters (like me) knew... Sam was spending his own
money left right and centre. When in fact it appeared he was borrowing
it to us????

But if he wants back in the fold, and wants us all behind him. We need
to know what the f**k he was playing at

Re: Wouldn't it be nice if Sam Hammam

If he did come back it would rip this club in half. Our supporters are one of the most divided i know of. For f**k sakes we hate CCMB and vice versa as much as we hate planet Gypo. The in fighting it would cause between our supporters would be damming and for the good of our club it would be better if he didn't come back. But let me state now apart from the above reason i would love Sam to come back he couldn't do much without VT say so any way. :ayatollah:

It would be massively divisive if he came back. Things are going great at CCFC at the moment. Hammam coming back would just rock the boat. For starters would DJ stay if Hammam came back in any capacity ?

I do not believe, for one moment, that Sam would have closed the club. Having spoken to him, on many occasions, I fully believe that he has the clubs best interests at heart.

The legalities, in my opinion, were as a result of his disagreement with PR. Sam just didnt have it in his heart to close the club.

Lets look at this further....

Whilst he was at the club he regularly watched the Academy. Not just the Under 18s and Under 16s but also the youngsters on a Sunday. Many of these players would never make it anywhere near professional status. Yet he spent his time because he was interested.

Langston was owed £24m. But, despite that, he was prepared (on behalf of Langston) to reduce that debt to £10m. Who does that benefit? He has effectively offered to write off £14m of the clubs debt - and, not content with writing 60-70% of the debt off, it now appears that he maybe willing to reduce that debt down to £5m - subject to certain conditions.

Lets put it another way..... He is effectively giving the club £19m.....Now if anyone else offered the club £19m we would snap their hands off.

I just think that Sam is misunderstood. He has not made a lot of money out of the City. In fact, in all likelihood, he has lost millions. But yet he still wants to be part of us...
