Got to be £20,000 a week, if he helps us get to the prem it has got to be worth it. They are paying for Bells jay is our top scorer, the boat has to be pushed out on this one. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

And how exactly does everyone propose this £20k a week is funded?

Re: how much would u give jay a week to say?

I dont think the club will be held to ransom by his agent, but he gotta be worth 15-20k if thats what the other big earners get,
3 or 4 year with a "big club" or x amount of million clause and he'd sign
"Jonesy, sign him up
jonesy jonesy sign him up"

22, 23, 24k gates, top of the league, the most important player in the team, the club HAVE to fund it.

I think as the most important player in the team he should be on the same as the top earners, with a get out if anyone from premier makes an offer.Hope hes not to greedy that we cant aford him. Just wish i had a pay rise its been 2 years since i last had one, hes probably on more than i earn in a year every week.Lifes so hard.

Lets not get carried away sure jay is a prize asset. But past experience should tell us lets not go over board 12k thats hell of a pay rise :?:

He should be paid his value or worth to the team. In my view him staying is pivotal to our season and any future success. We can only pay him what the club can afford but a way must be found to make him an offer that will be difficult to refuse.

If Jay can cut it as a goal scoring striker in the Prem he will be able to earn at least 4o,ooo+ a week. Now the position he's in especially with the England interest, if we don't offer him similar amounts, he will play out his contract and be a free agent at the end of the year, he can then get an even better deal with a Prem club who will not have paid any sort of transfer fee.

What would you do in his position, and when people start going on about loyalty, please remember his first loyalty will be to his family and he will want to provide them for a good lifestyle for the 40 odd years he''l have out of football.

In short if we don't come up with and huge offer, he'll be gone, welcome to the Premier league whether we are in it or not.

I agree . This is a Fantasy football question that supporters like ourselves cannot answer realistically.

Only TG and Vincent Tan know how much can be offered.

We gotta leave it to them, even if it means Jay goes in Jan. (Please God, NO)

You'd have thought by now as a group of fans you'd have learnt your lesson. It seems some are still slow though.

If Jay is worth a minimum of £5m (with a contract) that equates to around £100k over 1 year. Bearing in mind that he could go for free in the summer it therefore makes financial sense to offer £20k per week - as you recapture what you have paid in the summer if he is sold. The only reason we wouldnt sell him would be because we are already in the Premiership.

I would propose the following:

3 Year Contract on £20k per week
25% increase if promoted
Nice Signing on fee
Allowed to talk to other clubs under any of the following conditions:
a) Cardiff are not in Premiership next season
b) Offer of £7m
c) Top 4 club enquiry

This would protect Jay as an asset to Cardiff City

From JB perspective he would have the salary that he deserves, with increases if promoted, and "get outs" without being able to go on a free.
