I have never been a England fan and being honest I have always wanted them to lose whoever they play but tonight I feel extremely proud that one of our players has been called up to play for a top 6 international side. He never signed for us as an international but our club and staff have helped him achieve his call up.
I will now watch the game against France hoping that Jay makes it onto the pitch.
What do we do now, about the anti England chants, will they stop, will it make you stop ?
Give me your honest answers please.

Warren Lewis Well a move for Jay to a big club is good for his bank balance but bad for his football imo why would he want to warm the bench at a big club when he can play regular football !!! thats my opinion Garry

I'm really pleased for Jay and I hope he gets on the pitch.
It's also another sign of how far Cardiff have come.
I generally support England when they play so if Jay does get a game I won't have any mixed feelings in hoping he scores.
I really hope we can keep him at cardiff but if we can't then we need to cash in on him.
I know there are many different opinions of the Ledley saga, but whatever the truth i felt disappointed that Cardiff received nothing for their development. Surely we can't let that happen again.

i would love to see bothroyd score for england in a 10-1 defeat! I FOOKING HATE ENGLAND!
Sat Nov 13, 2010 10:34 pm
Carl I echo your thoughts 100% i don't know why I feel proud as I want England to lose but I'm so pleased for Jay.
Will the anti English stuff stop? No never let's be realistic.
But we get shut from the English as well remember.
Well done Jay

Welldone Jay, the first Cardiff City player to receive an England call-up in the history of our club.

make the most of the time you have left watching jay, because Ive just spoke to a mate living in Liverpool and he just said that bothroyd is going to everton. have any of you heard anything about this, by all accounts the Cardiff board know about this and Dave Jones couldn't give a flying f**k

Anti England chants will never stop Carl. Any more than the buggers singing 'sheep-shaggers'
and 'Enger-land' chants will ever stop against us. Its no drama.
As for Jay??
If he plays for England against ANYBODY...
I hope he gets a hat-trick....
and they lose 4-3

If he plays against Wales will everyone here cheer him onto the pitch like did with McCormack when he played for Scotland v Wales and then boo Joe Allen if he comes on as sub for Wales again?
Sun Nov 14, 2010 1:20 am

Why would you though aren't you half English?
People go on about anti English chants like we don't get any anti welsh ones back, cmon it's a bit of banter isn't it? I enjoy it both ways (don't get any ideas shrek).
Like someone said a Jay hat trick and scum lose 4--3. Ideal.
Shows how much I like Jay as a player and person tho.

I am so proud of Jay and I hope to the bottom of my heart that he does get on the pitch and earn a cap, this would be no more than he deserves the way he is playing at the moment.
Rather than anti english chants if he does get on I can see a few ENGLANDS NO 9 chants next week.
Sun Nov 14, 2010 9:35 am
Jay's call up is great for this club, and i will want england to win, as i always do when they play international football. I'm not english but feel i have an affiliation with english football diue to cardiff playing in the championsip and the amount of premiership football i watch. I watch english players play every week, so when england play i would rather them get the best result. It can only be better for the leagues we play, as it will attract more supporters, more cash and better players to the leagues. Im not an england fan, i would just rather then get the best result and watch a decent game of football.
Its different we wales play england, obv i want wales to win then. I hope Jay plays on wed, i hope he does well and england get the best result. We are all the UK, and i will support all of the british teams when they play international football.
