Yes from 1972 onwards all the older Supporters Never let me forget.

I think you will fined Warboys wasnt he scored twice in his first game and went on to play 17 more games and scored 13 golas
He also scored 4 times in one match. and he cost 42K

Alan was a great guy and yes I saw him score the 4. He came on heavily strapped up because he was carrying an injury. He scored 4 goals then Scoular took him off not to aggravate the injury.

I was thinking this myself - so much so that I started my own Bothroyd/Toshack parallels thread before I saw your post!

Like all true football fans, we always fear the worst and even when your team is so good and playing well you always think something is going to happen to f--k it all up. I hope Jay's departure isn't it.

However in the 70s we had Clarke, King and Gibson, today we have Chopra, Bellamy and Burke. Providing we get a resaonable replacement I think we will be fine.

it was not so much warboys was an inadequate replacement, he did score 4 in one game and was an excellent player.
but the club took 3 games to replace toshack and we failed to win any of those games.
