I like Perry. One of the most knowledgable and level headed of the lot on there, even my wife just commented on how well he spoke when he was summarising Cardiff and Swansea's chances for the season. An absolute legend to a lot of from the 'bad old days' as well. A cracking nice guy to go with it as well.

He can say what he feckin wants. He'll always be a hero :ayatollah:

Not only is Perry a legend, I find him one of the best commentators on Radio Wales and is always pretty much spot on.

At least "Buthroyd just put his arm round Gypes" is far more up to date than Radcliff and Walsh constantly telling us anecdotes from games that happened 10 years ago.

Very good summariser. I enjoy listening to him. He had apoint regarding Gypes. If his confidence is low, then it is not going to help him if his teammates are slagging him off. We need all our squad members pulling in the same direction for promotion.

In the 90s I was standing on Caerphilly train station with my City top on waiting to go to the match, when Perry (then playing for City) pulled up in his car to drop his wife off. On seeing my top he asked if I was going to the game and offered me a lift down. When we got to the ground, he told me to wait a minute, he nipped in and came out with a vip ticket for me, I sat next to Glenn Hoddle. Will always be grateful for that special day, he didn't have to do it, he just wanted to.

I can not listen to Walsh, I always get the feeling he is rooting for the opposition. He even tends to cheer when we concede a goal.

Perry watchs the match as one of us and commentates accordingly.

Agreed.

Perry was spot on. Our back 4 tend to look for someone to balme all the time (bit like many of our fans  ). Gyepes confidenc eis bound to be low after the Swansea game so the last thing he needed was more moans form the others.

Have met Perry on many occasions, last time was when I drove him down to the Trust launch. He has always been a real gent, completely passionate about football and loves our club as much as we do. Has a very good football knowledge, but is certainly not big-headed about it at all.

Also remember about 20 years ago when he was a City star, bumped into him in the Cedar Tree nightclub in Caerphilly. He was there with Damon Searle and 2 nice looking women, but when he found out I was a City fan he totally ignored them and talked footy and shared beers for ours.

Finally remember when Swansea stuffed a truly cluelessCity 2-0 in the bad old days at NP. Perry was the ONLY player on that pitch who gave a sh1t. he was devastated after the game and the rest of the side just sloped off.

Who cares if he can't pronounce 'I can't spell' Bothroyd.
