Gosh, that film makes me feel young - I've been a football fan since the late 50s and this was even before my time! I can't believe how slow the game was in those days...it seemed quick at the time but on film it looks like a park kickabout.
They used to cram 60,000 into Ninian Park for big internationals in those days. The first one I remember was a 1-1 draw against England with Graham Moore scoring for Wales with a header, if I remember rightly. He was my childhood hero - he lived in Hengoed and I used to see him on the Rhymney to Queen Street train when I was on my way to school. I cried when he left to join Chelsea. Those were the days!

probably because of the weight of the ball had somthing to do with the pace of the game, together with heavy pitches and the fact that there were no subs in them days.
Diet was also a factor.

great listening to the old commentators everything was nice and jolly and what a good game different to the modern days commentators

and of course the fans chants have altered with classics like get into them and f**** them up !!!
