Reading Away My day

Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:38 pm

Ashamedly this was my first away game of the season  some thing that will have to be remedied. Nine of us travelled from this Forum , Nigel the mini bus driver Annis, Milly, Claire, Pokie 1 and his son and may i say a real character who thought Milly looked like Shrek    and two other non Forum members.
Stopping to pick up Milly on the Motorway slip road caused utter mayhem the sort that ends up on those Traffic police TV programmes with Cars beeping there horns as they were having to swerve around our mini bus.
Conversation was rife on the way up "well it was from Annis we all just listened" A few drinks on the way up, the roads were clear and we stopped about five miles out of Reading at a place i cant remember into a pub i cant remember.
The main topic of conversation was about Sam Hammam with a few tempers being raised due to the sensitivity of the subject,I can personally see both sides but one thing im sure Sam dosn't want is us fans fighting amongst ourselves about him and if one thing i do believe in is Sam does love this club.

Some Reading Fans appeared getting out of there car and giving it the big one you know the sort bring out your best five against us five until a City fan said come on then i will take you all on and after they threw some Glasses in his direction they legged it leaving there Car behind unlocked :o    .
Back in the pub the Landlord made all City fans welcome and his hospitality was noted and City fans behaviour was second to none and his takings went threw the roof.

Seven o clock approaching and it was time to head for the Madejski Stadium and we had a tour all round the outskirts of the stadium we could see it but couldn't get to it. As Milly said it was Tank driving and it was Annis the brains with the directions and Claire with her Sat Nav on her Phone. The directions kept on telling us to turn into the fields but in the end we got to the stadium. As we wanted to park next to the coaches two stewards told the driver you cant come in here lads !!
The comments from one of our lads was "the Chief superintendent up the road told us we had to park here". The stewards replied sorry you cannot park here so the reply was "look we have been told we was a known faces and if we didn't park up here we would end up in trouble" So the feckers let us in. Job done !!

I got split up from the other guys because i was in a different section to them but i soon met up with my crew Pete and his wife, Placid Casual who is so in love with Claire :P and placids boy Jack,Taunton Bluebird and Joe from Scotland.
City fans were packed in behind the goal all 3500 of us a fantastic turn out.
The atmosphere was good not outstanding in my opinion and the first half was one to forget. Darcy was in for Gypes who has paid the price for DJs terrible team selections and tactics. Darcey looked shakey and nervy and it was also another Dave Jones outcast Matthews who by the looks of it DJ has totally destroyed confidence wise was at fault for Readings goal which was soft to say the least but it was a good strike by Noel Hunt.

The second half was a little better but we are just not firing on all cylinders at the moment, id of thought we would of pushed on after the Leeds game but DJ has to take the blame for this as he tried to mend something that wasn't broken a real flaw in his management skills. Jay bothroyd the man of the moment in every game wasn't at his best last night he spent more time on the deck the on his feet scored with a fantastic goal which came of the underside of the crossbar and the linesman to his credit saw it cross the line cue for City fans to go mental. DJ took off Chopra and bought on H2O in a bid not to loose the game , oh no not again!! but City held out for a good point. And this was all the more sweeter that the Jacks lost 1-0 to the Shitheads. They were obviously still celebrating there cup final win over us   TOSSERS.

Thanks to everyone on our Mini bus making me feel welcome and it was good company and some good conversations. I look forward to our next forum away day !!

I think a point was a fair result, 1st half we were piss poor, Out defence was pathetic, Hudson was way way to slow and Blake was piss poor too, We seem to let the players run at us and just keep backing off untill they are within distance to shoot!. I think 2nd half we were a 7 or 8/10. Koumas was very good when he come on, some real slick 1 2's by him, Hopefuly a sign of his return to form. :ayatollah:
