The dust is settling now on the derby defeat, and in all honesty There were numerous contributing factors to our defeat and the debate will be there, Was DJ to blame, should burke have started, etc but the overiding factor is that as a group of fans and supporters we have come a long way and yesterday was a testament to that. Over 26,000 fans present something I could have only dreamed about several years ago and indeed 5 arressts is a great achievement. Like many of us i Left the valleys early morning on a organised bus with the Bargoed lads, full of hope , a buzz an excitement that a derby game generates, Titch does a great job galvanising the masses in that area. I managed to meet carl, darko and other posters from this site which has become a great outlet and a social point for many of us with new mates and fans to link with on match days, and indeed the lounge bar seems fast to becoming a home from home for the posters

I met 2 dutch fans who had a great day and appreciated the hospitallity and indeed ALi even managed to greet them on the tannoy.
We sung, we cheered , and ultimatly we lost. The gippos on the day were better and a combination of misgivings obviously helped them to do a job on ourselves. But I thought the Family stand were immense yesterday people standing up singing and gesturing and the Canton seemed the loudest this season. The fans who once created that intimidating atmosphere are still there but the reality is we are dispersed amongst the stadium, and the size of the ground ensures that the 'noise' as we recall may not be there. However.....for thousands of our newer fans this was their first derby, indeed the crowds have increased at such a rapid rise that arguably we have around 8,000 to 10k new fans, Rome wasnt built in a day and im sure as the seasons go by the fans will become acustomed to the chanting and together things will go from strength to strength. Yes we lost but the season rolls on and this year the promised land may be in reach....... as we trooped back we passed a church and as the congregation looked at our bus, you couldnt help but smile and think 'we had been to our church' and the faithfull will return and remain united together backing the team that is Cardiff City
