A voice of reason - feel free to tell me I'm wrong!

We weren't that bad yesterday - we were up against a good team who haven't conceded a goal for six league matches. This isn't luck on their part, it is part of a well organised team plan and they may have done the same to us even if Jay was playing.

In the last couple of years they have badly overun us in midfield and DJ put together a formation to counter this. We matched them until half time and although it wasn't pretty it was effective. If Bellamy had scored when through one on one it could have been oh so different, but it didn't and that's football. If we had tried to play a 4-4-2 against that team we might have lost 3-0.

The Drinkwater decision back fired - I hope it doesn't affect him too much psychologically. I think I am in the minority here when I say that I would rather McPhail had played in midfield, then swap Burke for Chopra later in the game.

We have to develop a strategy for when Jay isn't playing - this was another attempt. We seem to be getting into the mentality that we can't win without him. Lets forget that and try to put a strategy together to counteract the problem. Yesterday was an attempt to do that and would probably have worked against more than half of the teams in the Championship.

There is no Jay "backup" out there. Imagine how much we would have to pay someone of that calibre to come to our club? (and I mean wages, not transfer fee). And they would have to come knowing they would be second choice, perhaps for a whole season ? That's not going to happen. If we can't get an alternative to Keogh then the rest of the team need to learn how to get the best out of his skills, and not treat him as if he is Jay and complaining when he messes it up.

If it wasn't Swansea, we would have settled for a draw yesterday from the start. The fans may well care more about this game than any other game, and DJ tries to be more pragmatic about it, but I would gladly swap 2 defeats against Swansea for automatic promotion any day of the week and twice on Sunday. At least we lost to a decent team - its even more frustrating when we don't play well against some of the lower teams in the division.

DJ should stay - if we don't go up then he'll be gone anyway and we can start again.

I presume Bellamy will not be available on Wednesday as he only plays once a week? Then we have to learn to win without him as well! If we win and the Wurzels do us a favour, it will be as it was before yesterday and all will be right with the world!

Lunch break over - back to work!)

drinkwater should never have played in a big derby/top 3 game he was not match fit..
burke should have started and keough on the bench.. drinkwater shoudnt have made the bench and mcphail or koumas starting instead

I can excuse a player when he has an off day, I can excuse a team when they have an off day,but i cannot excuse any player for not trying 100% and there were a lot of those on the pitch yesterday, unfortunately they were all in blue.

Dave jones got it wrong yesterday and again I can forgive this but what really annoys me is that he will never admit it.

Holloway the other week was being interviewed on tv and he openly admitted he had made a major mistake and took the flak away from the team.

I have never seen Saint David (jones) ever admit to making a mistake and he is very keen to blame his players, perhaps that's why Blackpool players will run through brick walls for their manager and our players wont on the big occasions. I was hoping he would learn from this example but I am afraid he is convinced he knows it all.

i dont think swansea were good yesterday.....we were just bad yesterday :ayatollah:

if we played like we are capable of then swansea wouldnt have got a look in but we didnt :ayatollah:

if we play like we can then no one in this league will touch us...... if we play like we did against the jacks then next season we will be again looking back on a season of regerts and missed opportunities :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
