Putting the moral reprehensibility of their economic actions aside, Cardiff are a club on the up. Anyone who thought that avoiding administration would be the result of the summer for the Bluebirds were proved drastically wrong when they pulled off the Craig Bellamy deal.
However, whilst the Welsh striker has added a degree of excitement and impetus, the ability to retain Premier League quality players in Peter Whittingham and Jay Bothroyd has provided the club with their biggest fillip.
