i remember my first away game being ton pentre in the fa cup first round i think city won 4-1 and my first home game being a 1-0 loss to darlington where they had 1 away supporter stood on the grange end lol

first home game was home to swansea 1987, went to newport and swansea away that season
first away game outside of wales was tranmere opening game of the season 89 i think, we lost 3-0
i went to that ton pentre game then went to merthyr swansea in the evening

First home game Millwall 1977 won 4-1 . First away Barnsley 1980 won 1-0

1978 Westham V Cardiff I think it was 1-1, but I also went the following Season and that might of been 3 nil to the Hammers Got a Kicking both Seasons there, we took 800 the first, then only 200 went the following Season, I went the 3rd year running in the Night and WE TOOK A MASSIVE 25 Fans, it was that Mad/Scary/Mental

first away game: shrewsbury 86 i think.cup game,we were drawing nil nil and all the fans were singing "NINIAN PARK" and then some little tw*t smashed one into the bottom corner and we lost 1 nil

First home against Coventry 1967 (end of 1966-67 season) 1-1 . Bobby Brown for Cardiff. A very young John Toshack missed a penalty late in the game.

First away Brentford New Year's day Bank holiday 1983. Won 3-2 - I think Gary Bennett was one of the scorers? I know he was immense that day but would easily have been sent off under today's interpretation of the rules. I found myself in the stand sat next to Neil and Glenys Kinnock and some of their children, although that was just before he was known so well outside Wales.

As a footnote, that evening I went with a mate to watch Watford play Manchester City (the only time I have done 2 football league matches in one day!), and saw a young Jimmy Gilligan score both goals in a 2-0 win for Watford! Little did I know then that he would become a Bluebirds hero!
