No 1 Team in Wales - Bragging Rights

Thu Nov 04, 2010 11:34 am

Now i don't think anyone could argue (Although i'm sure many Jacks will ) that since Swansea have come into the Championship, Cardiff City have been the No 1 team in Wales. This is due to the fact that we have consistently finished above them in the Championship Table :D

Once again going into Sundays derby we are No 1 team in wales by virtue of the fact that we are top and the Jacks are third. We will still be the No1 team after Sundays game never mind what the result because the Jacks cannot go above us.

Now God forbid we lose on Sunday because this board will be inundated with Jerks rubbing our noses in it and claiming they are No 1 team in Wales

However to me it is all about where you finish at the end of the season and even if we were to do the unthinkable and lose both derby games this Season but we were still promoted at the end of the Season. Then i would happily take that because while the Jerks would be celebrating being No 1 team in Wales we would be preparing to play Man Utd,Chelsea, Arsenal etc.

There would be absolutely no doubt in my mind who would be the No 1 team in Wales despite what our little cousins might think

What does everyone think

PS I want to beat the Jerks in both games with a passion :ayatollah:

I agree. However, the same is true in reverse. If we beat the Jacks twice this season it means nothing if they finish above us in May. Unlikley I know but in some ways you have to see where DJ is coming from when he tries to play down these games :ayatollah:

Having said all that, after 6 pints of lager on Sunday morning I will most pissed off we don't stuff the in-bred bastards

It's a massive game and it does frustrate when Jones says 'it's just another game' because it's not. Maybe that's just a face he uses in the public eye. I have faith that we can not only beat them twice this season but finish above them. I don't feel that Rodgers is as tactically astute as Sousa and Martinez. I might be wrong but he even if he is, we have too much for them even without Bothroyd.

Really like your confidence to win both derbies finish above them and get promoted would be incredible :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

early 80's was hard to take tho Jeff ................. I remember opening day of the season when we were up at Oldham drawing 2 - 2 the Jacks were hammering Leeds 5 - 1 infront of the MOTD cameras down the Vetch in their 1st season in the top flight ! Then it was every bloody week on MOTD with them playing Arsenal , Man U etc BUT by 84/85 both teams were in the dungeon and since then they have always been above us until recent seasons , so hopefully bragging rights will be ours in May . We have ALL been waiting a long time for that to happen , so why not ? :ayatollah:

I was at that game Mart in the Leeds end :D Alan Curtis scored an absolutely peach of a goal right in front of the Leeds fans who couldn't believe what was happening (a bit like Monday night just over a week ago  ) Loads of fighting over in the quadrant after with Leeds running riot and Swansea just running it was exactly like being down there with City
