TUESDAY 02nd NOVEMBER 2010 UPDATE

This forum is very proud to have been a part of the promoting of the "I'll Be There" single and would like to thank all the members and non members that turned out on Saturday and supported the single and also to everyone who bought it. Also a thank you to Jonny Owen and Owen Powell who turned up at the Ninian Park pub on Saturday. Also a thank you to the club for allowing us to borrow the FA cup.

Graham Keenor was very thankful for the support of the forum and recognised the work that people had done and has asked for everyone to continue with their support as the funding is not complete yet. Graham told me on Saturday of his desire to have the statue unveiled on Saturday 23rd April 2011 at our home game against QPR as this would be exactly 84 years to the day since Fred Keenor and the team lifted the cup. For this to happen the Statue needs to go into production by the end of this month. Graham Keenor has so far put in £500 of his own money towards the Statue.

Whilst we were in the Ninian Pub on Saturday there was the 3ft mock of the statue on the directors level in the stadium and money was also being raised there and I would like to thank Delia Smith's husband Michael Wynn-Jones for his generous contribution to the fund that he made on Saturday afternoon.

The club are surprised at the amount of home support that continue not to turn up for home games even though they have tickets. Again against Norwich City 1500 supporters failed to turn up. I wonder if the club need to look whether these people are real and there is not a glitch on the system or something as it seems a lot of people each game not showing.

Many of you will have noticed the state of the pitch on Saturday and despite the work of the ground staff I think it seems pretty obvious that the artificial lighting that this type of pitch requires is needed at the CCS but unfortunately even if the club decided tomorrow they would buy them there is a 3 month waiting time for delivery so it looks like we wont see it getting better any time soon.

On to Sunday's game versus Swansea, sources close to the squad tell me that Drinkwater will be on the bench this week and DJ was very close to putting on there last week but rightfully took the advice of the medical staff and left him out of the squad all together but it shows how close Danny was to making it.

Chris Riggott will not be available for this Sunday. I hope that Dave Jones requests another reserve game for the likes of Riggott and Drinkwater to help them gain the match fitness that they need, at present I am not aware of any game lined up but if it changes I will forward the info on.

With regards to ticket sales against Swansea I learned today some interesting news which I am sure will bring a smile to many faces. Cardiff City Football Club took requests and applications in excess of 35,000 for tickets for this game on Sunday. The club believe had they had the facility and the stadium to do so they could have sold anywhere up to 40,000 tickets for the South Wales Derby. Interest in this game has been phenomenal. The sleeping giant is awakening. By the way Swansea still have 400 tickets to sell from their allocation.

For Sundays game ex City player Warren Feeney will be in the Ninian stand cheering on Cardiff and he will also be joining the members of this forum in the Ninian Park Pub prior to the game to sample the build up and the atmosphere. Don't forget that the pub will be open from 10am for breakfast.

Prior to writing this update I took a call from an insider at the club who once again told me that Vincent Tan is definitely but not immediately becoming Chairman but will do it from afar and that his son U-Jiun will become more involved with the day to day running of club and this will happen before the season ends. This ties in with a conversation I had last week where I was told that TG will step aside when VT is ready to take over in person even though he is already the man pulling all the strings. TG is proving to be a very honourable and humble man and I would like to publicly thank him for his involvement thus far with City and for selling the dream also to VT who thought that TG was mad to get involved with a football club.

On November 21st it will be the first anniversary of this forum and it is proving to be a huge success and is recognised even by the club and I quote " We all realise now that's the board for City fans now ! ".

We have made massive strides in the first 11 months and truthfully probably bigger than we could have imagined, we are currently achieving hit's from 30,000 different ip's every month and to date we have 3468 registered members. On behalf of the moderators and in the absence of the site founder Annis Abraham Jnr, I would like to thank everyone who makes the board the success that it is. Without the members and visitors to the board we would be nothing so keep up the good work and continue to enjoy the board for many years to come.

His Son U-Jiun will not become Chairman but I am told will become Chief Executive

I'm sure his wage requests are going up by the game at the moment, but it needs to get sorted.

They are talking with Jay's agent an offer has been made now it is down to the player ( or his agent prob ) whether he signs it.

Gagsy I spoke with the club on Saturday morning about this and they are waiting for the ticket allocation from QPR and they had not heard upto that point if there had been a date change.

The pitch will cause us problems if it is like last year.

to give the Jacks a break. I think the 6 hr journey to and from Cardiff is what has put
a lot of them off. I dont blame them really. If we had a big enough stadium and the
police were practical about marshalling the away fans instead of just treating them like
shite then I'd imagine there could be an attendance of close to 50,000!!!!!!
