How Are We REALLY Doing?

Below is a table made up of the best 24 teams in each of the last seasons. We have the 6th best record which isn't bad BUT it is worth noting that Watford had the best record back in 2000 and ended up in 9th place.

Only 12 of the last 23 went up automatically with another 5 making the Play-Offs and only ONE of them went up. It seems falling from the top to the Play-Offs does not set you up well for the Play-Offs.

We have the 2nd worse finish after topping the league when we fell to 13th in 2006/07. A special mention to Millwall though who topped the league and then got relegated with 52 points and finishing 22nd back in 1995/96.

I think it just proves that no chickens should be counted just yet.
