my own opinion is, nothing is free,, you get more security on your computer if you pay, i have norton anti virus, about £60, a year, well worth it,,,,, been there and done it, looking not to pay for virus protection etc,

I suggest avast, had it for the last 5 years - no problems.

Microsoft Security Essentials has established a pretty solid reputation since it's been released. I've used it on 3 or 4 computers for a while now, and it's been fine.
