A forum for all things Cardiff City

Dear English Football Association
I would just like to refer you to an incident in the game between Cardiff City and Doncaster Rovers on the 21st August 2010. It involves Michael Chopra being injured when his leg was nearly broke. He was then out for 2 months whilst he recovered.
Here’s the picture in case you looked in case you don’t take notice of games involving Welsh teams
Nasty isn’t it!!!
I tried to find some more articles regarding the tackle but funnily enough the English media didn’t seem to mention it anywhere, strange that!
Now the only problem I have is that nothing was done because the referee saw the incident, fair enough if they are the rules then we have to follow them.
Of course as long as you follow those rules for every club, which you do, yes?
I mean surely you wouldn’t email or contact the Welsh FA for adopting a similar stance on the latest bad tackle by Cardiff City’s Jay Bothroyd, bad indeed but the referee states he saw the incident and therefore the WFA cannot do anything.
Anyway, I look forward to a non biased (some would say Non-Xenophobic) response as to what the difference is between the two incidents and why you have decided to join in with the media witch hunt once again against Cardiff City.
Bye for now
A Welshman
YOU THINK I'LL GET ANY KIND OF RESPONSE

Do you realise that you needed to have permission from the photographer before you used it in any capacity, due to international copyright law ?

Nathan glad to see you want to study sports journalism ! One of the subjects involved in the syllabus is journalism law, you
get to learn all about copyright and having to contact the photographer if you wish to use their photographs and how
much of a fee will have to be paid !

Nice, man!

You should know that the law is open to interpretation on this... I don't think he's doing anything more than using it for his own personal use.
Besides, who took the photo? Maybe he took a photo of a tv still.
It's not likely to become an issue, is it Trooper? It's certainly not been published and links to such matter are found on the internet all the time and go unpunished.

you have ruind it for yourself, a cracking photo and valid points however what a childish letter, do you think they will will take such a thugish letter seriously, if you had clearly stated your points in a well structured letter with that photo, used dates and myabe a camparison photo aginst jays challenge,
then ask for a explanation response, instead of abuse and demanding action, you might have had a tidy reply,

Put it on a Leeds forum, let them know, we just accepted it and moved on, so should they

I'd have to agree with Carpet. Because of the attitude in the letter I don't think you will be taken seriously. That tackle on chopra was shocking! but it was months ago, I'm sure if a complaint was made at the time (which I dont believe was?) then it would have been looked into just as Jays was. The difference I believe is that Jays tackle was investigated because of media coverage. I get you upset over the two, but using discrimantion I think is a tad ott.

Dear Dave sheffield, you say the law is open to intepretation, I like to see you use that in a court of law !!!
If it was used for his own personal use, he wouldn't have put it on here for all and sundry to see !!!
The photograph was not taken as a still off the tv !!!
I am the actaul copyright holder of that photograph and the point I am trying to raise yet again is that people are publishing photographs onto this site without the permission of the photographer, whether to make a point or as an avatar, I don't think Annis or anyone using a picture they shouldn't, would be happy if they received an invoice throught their letterbox asking for payment of a published image !

Judging by that letter you have a future as a reporter at the Echo or Western Mail. Bad gramnmar, poor punctuation and no attention to getting facts right. Who or what is the WFA?

Dear The Trooper,
I would like to point out the following quotation:
The Trooper wrote:I sent that photo to my mate who is a Leeds fan, he was Bothroyd this and Bothroyd that !
I explained to him that if the game hadn't been on sky that the incident would have gone unnoticed much the same as Chopra's tackle has !
After all, all of us at the game saw how bad it was, its just lucky that I got the photo on the day and put in the public eye to a wider audience !
YOU put the photo in the public eye, and were pleased that a wider audience were able to see the tackle!! Now your moaning about it!
How did Nathan get a copy of the image? Have you posted it online?!
Also, why bring Annis into it? Has he used 'your' photo?
